Habitat for Humanity of Island County Administrative Offices — Local services in Oak Harbor

I've donated to Habitat for Humanity for many years. Some of the volunteers at the Oak Harbor, WA location are by far the worst that I've ever seen. Not only are they rude and unprofessional but they maintain smug attitudes towards their donors. My husband and I were disrespected numerous times by the manager and another associate for no apparent reason. The only logical explanation that we've come to is that they just didn't want to do the job that they signed up for. These volunteers are supposed to maintain common courtesy in an effort to receive donations that will benefit those that are in need. Its a shame that their behavior has caused us to cease all donations to this organization. Do yourself a favor and avoid these people at all cost and donate to a more deserving organization with better representatives. I highly suggest that if you are in need of furniture to go to Habitat for Humanity. Patty was a literal angel when it came to helping my family and I get not only a gorgeous bed with mattress box spring and comforter set but also 3 chairs for our dining room area all within our budget. The gentlemen helped to load it on our car and a special thanks to the blonde guy with an accent (I'm so sorry I didnt get your name) who directed the rest so that they were able to put it all on our car so we didn't have to make 2 trips. I had scheduled a pickup of items and when the driver arrived he requested I wash a cover and that he would be back the next day at 10 a.m I washed the cover as requested but they never came back, nor did they have the courtesy call to tell me that they were not picking up. So I wasted time washing an item and also the better part of a day waiting around. When I called to find out what was going on I did not recieve an apology or a return call.
