My wife entered and won a writing contest. The prize was two free tickets to a Friday night show, and she read her story on stage to a packed house before the show. Everyone involved was great. The show was really good. The performers put on a masterpiece of their rendition of the play. This was my first time at the Whidbey Playhouse, and I must say that it was a fantastic environment. If you haven't been, it is totally worth the admission price to see a live theater event. In this digital age, there is something to be said for the classical arts. With what seems to be an ever encroaching non-human entertainment being shoveled down our throats it is places like this one that are fighting to save the soul or what's left of the human spirit that burns within us all. Being community theater it is a small venue and with some productions the cast almost out mans the audience even with a packed house. Building is an old church in great repair.
