A Fork in the Road — Local services in Oakland

A Fork in the Road was above and beyond the best catering experience ever. We decided about a week in advance to plan a wedding dinner for ~25 people and she planned the perfect evening. She worked with me to help find the perfect menu and service option that was also within my budget.

The food was incredible. Everyone was raving for days after the event how amazing it all was. I had specifically decided I wanted lobster rolls for the main dish, and wow was there lobster. The rolls were STUFFED so much delicious lobster. My personal other favorites was the poke and chicken and waffle taco.

The service was amazing. Before the event Kristen was proactive and communicative to make sure everything day of planned for properly, helping me define a timeline, and even coming over before to understand the kitchen space she would be working with. Day of, the team was BUSTING their butts the entire time they were here. Between making sure beverages were served, food was out at the right time, and cleaning up they did it all so that I didn't have to worry about a single thing. The food displays were also beautiful, and everything was well timed.

I ordered a Thanksgiving dinner for 4 from A Fork in the Road and it blew me away. Not only was it so convenient and a great value, the food itself was exceptional. I have never even been a fan of turkey and I was going back for seconds and my partner and I are still fighting over the leftovers. I couldn't even get a photo of the desserts cause they were gone so fast. Kristen was super responsive, easy to work with, and made our holiday so special and delicious. I also really appreciated that there were ways to make so many of the dishes vegetarian. Kristen catered our 60-person wedding on extremely short notice. She not only worked with us on a custom menu for our tastes and dietary needs but handled all the rentals, which was a huge load off. I received ENDLESS compliments from my guests about how incredible the food was, including the vegans! People kept saying, "You never remember the food at weddings, but that was better than most 5-star restaurant I've been to" and, "I'm going to try and recreate that salad at home!"
