My boyfriend and I have been living here since beginning of September and we absolutely love it here. Take my word for it— this place is worth touring if you are looking for a new place to call home. If you decide to sign a lease a) welcome! b) you won’t regret it 🤗
See my long winded explanation below of a handful of reasons our experience living at Alta Waverly thus far has been incredible.
The leasing/management staff have been exceptional. They are professional yet genuine, kind, and friendly. They were neither pushy nor arrogant which is what we found to be the case at other places we toured or spoke to. And since moving in they’ve treated us like family are helpful and communicative.
We looked into a ton of places all over Oakland and Alta Waverly by far offers some of the most thoughtful and unique amenities. I’ve listed only some of the ones that stand out most to us: DIY makers space by far is my favorite part (somewhere you can do woodworking, arts & crafts, and just make a mess). 24 hour gym with equipment we hadn’t seen in other apartment gyms like a rower, StairMaster, plyo boxes, large range of free weights, etc. Two resident lounge areas (2nd floor and rooftop). Beautiful urban oasis landscaping, grills, fire pits, indoor/outdoor lounging areas, dog run, community garden, etc. Controlled access and nightly security Fun assortment of Community Events Gated access parking garage Coffee and hot drink bar Package room for the gazillion amazon orders that get delivered to us
All of the neighbors we’ve met are friendly and respectful.
Unbelievably dog friendly. Our chiweenie has made so many friends of all sizes here.
Lake Merritt is 2 blocks away and there are plenty of places to go and things to do all within walking distance. We’ve had a blast walking around the area and exploring.
It’s a safe area - To go to work I use public transportation- I walk to the Bart (7 min) around 5:30am and come back around 8:30pm and I feel safe.
... I could honestly keep going but these were just the first few off the...
Read moreI lived in Alta Waverly for one year. I chose this building based on the great reviews it had and the sense of security it provided to me. No one can walk in unless they have a key hub ( no one can ride in the elevators as well , unless they have a key hub). When I toured the building it took me just a few minutes to make a final decision to rent it. Location: It is located on Valdez St. next to Broadway which is Oakland's city main street. So, being one street away form Broadway is a plus: it is more quiet/safer. It has a Sliver pizzeria on the same side walk 30 steps from the main door. It also has a mexican restaurant and Calabash a few steps away. Target is 5 min walking distance. 3 minutes to Lake Merrit which is a nice walk all year long. 5 minute walk from Whole Foods. Many restaurants nearby, 10min walk to Bard.
Administration: My initial interaction was with Tianti .He was very kind and professional. He was always available to help with any issues. He was very patient and honest with me. He gained my trust and he proved to be trustworthy during the whole year. I never had an incident during my stay. I once reported a shower water leak , next morning it was already repaired. Then Ali joined the group and he was also very kind and professional.
Apartment: Nice , modern rooms. Quiet. Gym brand new machines. Nice yoga room. Common area with spacious rooftop with BBQ.
Parking: I paid for the private garage with reserved space. No one can enter unless they have key. I don't recall any incidents during the last year.
I would not hesitate to stay here if you want to feel safe, be next to the main city streets, walking distance from restaurants...
Read moreI have truly loved my time living at Alta Waverly thus far. This is an apartment complex with 150 units, all brand new and beautifully done. Location is what I would describe as between Uptown and Adams Point neighborhoods in Oakland. It’s a 5 minute walk to the amazing Whole Foods here, and an 8 minute walk to 19th St Bart Station. Lake Merritt is a couple blocks away and there are TONS of restaurants and shops nearby. Not to mention there will be shops under the apartment complex itself. Other pros: a beautiful community level that includes a brand new gym with some of the nicest gym equipment, including a peloton. There is also a yoga studio that now has instructor-led classes on select days! This level also includes a community guest house, where there is always Cold Brew on tap AND beer on tap (open on select days for Happy Hour). There are two grills on the same level, along with a ping pong table AND there is a Maker Space area which will be hosting its first paint and wine night soon! There is also a beautiful roof with two more gas grills. The roof has an area for dogs and pets to go on—pets are allowed for an additional fee a month I believe. The roof also has a couch area with a tv! Every unit is completely new and has great appliances. The in-unit washer and dryer is of great quality and is such a steal for housing in the Bay Area!! When it comes to packages there is a system where you get a picture of your package and it goes into a secure room—so no more stolen packages!! Overall this place is truly great. The staff is so friendly and helpful. I really trust the people that created and maintain this beautiful building! Very lucky to be...
