My fiancé and I came to Pavé with a beautiful, antique men’s diamond and gold pinky ring with hand-engraving that we intended to use as an engagement ring. The ring was a size 10, and my bony, witches fingers are a size 5, so we were nervous about finding the right jeweler to help with such a large resizing-if it could even be done at all! As soon as we walked into Pavé (no appointment was required, we were just welcomed in!), associate Cindy made herself available to help us. She was so warm and friendly, and immediately took the ring for a complimentary cleaning so she could examine it further. Let me tell you, it’s worth it to come in just for a cleaning alone! She gave us some details about the band, the cut/quality of the stone, then helped us visualize how the ring would be adjusted in the resizing process. Because the ring would need to be downsized so dramatically, there were questions about how to preserve the antique bezel and engraving that makes the ring so unique and special for us. Cindy spoke with the house jeweler about it while we were on-site, allowing us to ask questions and feel absolutely confident that the resizing could be done without any damage to the setting. We were given a sketch and quoted a price, which was more than fair for such a dramatic resizing. We were also given fair warning that the jeweler was booked out about 3-4 weeks; this complicated things for us slightly, as we are moving across the country. Cindy spoke to us about our shipping options, which she assured us was prompt and safe, but told us she would leave a note with the jeweler that indicated our timeline. We decided to leave the ring with the jeweler and hope that the ring was done before we left, and sure enough, it was! Exactly 3 weeks after we left the ring, we got a call that it was ready. To say that we are pleased is an understatement!!! We are absolutely in love with how the ring turned out: not only does the ring fit perfectly, it looks completely untouched. The band had to be reshaped into an oval (rather than circular) in order to preserve the setting, and I hardly notice the difference in shape. It is comfortable, the craftsmanship is flawless, and we were supported at every step by Cindy’s knowledge and kindness.
