I started working with Bryson several years ago- 4 plus years ago- and his fascia restructuring teachings changed my life in a way I never imagined possible for me- a return to an active lifestyle!
At 18 years old, my right knee was âblown outâ in a college soccer game. I tore my ACL, MCL, medial meniscus, and dislocated my patella. After surgery I was able to play competitively for another 10 years. At 28 years old, my knee had developed enough arthritis to force the end of my soccer career. It was painful and would swell up so much my quadriceps could no longer function properly. I was told if I didnât stop playing, I would need a total knee replacement by the time I was 35.
So I quit playing the sport I loved. Any sport I tried after that yielded the same result- a swollen, painful knee and loss of function. That lead to many years of inactivity, weight gain, and depression.
At 50 years old I decided enough was enough and wanted to learn to ski so I could be part of an activity my husband and daughter were doing together. Same results- a painful, swollen, non-functional knee. Until I met Bryson at age 52- for reference, Iâm now 57.
I committed to 12 weeks of fascia restructuring with Bryson- and my life has never been the same since. I got my active life back! It took time, I had to do the work and pull back on the high impact activities for a while- but we were able to get me back to a lifestyle I really thought was not in the cards for me ever again. I have been able to ski- out West- cycle, and hike. I just finished a 20 mile hiking event this past weekend.
It took time and effort on my end- but I got my life back! So long as I continue to do the work, Brysonâs fascia restructuring teachings continue to support my return to an active life- which I never, ever thought I would have- ever again. Itâs exciting to think about the future and what adventures I might have- because I can.
Thank you, Bryson! I am...
Read moreWriting to tell of experience with my feet and Bryson Newellâs teaching techniques in Somatic Fascial Tensegrity(SFR). In Zoom classes at Vidya Method, with Bryson, it was clear that certain movements were out of reach of the abilities of my feet. The right Big toe could not bend on its own without external help.
Bryson, used his extensive human anatomy movement knowledge, created an exercise regimen to train and regain that toeâs ability to bend on its own. After consistently practicing Brysonâs techniques, happily reporting that toe now bends, lifts, and curls separately from the other four toes! Amazingly, Bryson helped me accomplish this without any face to face meetings. It was done on line through Zoom as a private client.
Currently, as student at Vidya Method, enrolled in SFR course, additional benefits gained, are facilitation of walking, better balance, no hip weakness or tensor muscle soreness experienced.
As a retired 70 year old grandmother, who watches a very active toddler, these lessons keep me active, moving and a vital part of her life. Imagine playing follow the leader with your grandchild on the playground, doing the climbing, sliding, swinging etc. and not feeling sore the next day! Bryson truly understands our human anatomy and what it needs to move in the best, most advantageous way.
Thank you, Bryson, for sharing that the healthy feet are the basis for ease in movement, and getting the feet right leads to somatic fascial tensegrity, which leads to better...
Read moreThis program is invaluable. Bryson teaches from experience and with a great deal of patience. I am a better mover, a better runner and more in synch with the way my body moves. The techniques have helped me to move from an organic place instead of fighting and forcing my body to do my bidding. Running has become fun again and I am learning to listen to my bodyâs queues instead of pushing and forcing. In doing so I am becoming faster without all the forcing & pain. Because of the techniques Bryson has shared I believe I will have a lifetime of movement instead of the hip replacements that others in my family have endured. Not to mention many more years enjoying the trails. You will not be subject to sweaty workouts, these practices are doable. The hardest part is cultivating the patience to do less to find more....
