We Rock The Spectrum is new to the Barnegat/Waretown/Manahawkin area, and to start, is a great place to bring children with special needs! The layout is stocked with sensory play equipment, designed and engaging for any child, but especially for those who have sensory disorders. They also have an arts & crafts section as well for spontaneous creativity. One popular piece of equipment is the indoor zip line, safe and a lot of fun!
Prices for admission are very reasonable, in line with other places like it, and they offer very good discounts for multiple visit purchases.
The staff are well-trained, attentive, thorough and very friendly. They are knowledgeable with how to handle children with special needs, and are trained to work and assist with whatever your child may need. They frequently walk the floor to keep an eye on what's going on and cleaning to assure safe play.
Plan to keep a watchful eye on your children, as there is a lot of activity going on, children can and will zip around there quickly!!! Always laughs and smiles around, it's becoming a very popular place to bring your kids to to get out some energy, excersice and let loose!
There is also a sensory "Quiet" room, perfect for any child who may be feeling a bit overwhelmed by the noise or activity going on. It features neutral lighting, calming color tones, books, toys, pillows and other assorted sensory items to help ease any possible anxieties or sensory overloads.
They sell Melissa & Doug items as well, and this is a franchise thing, other locations also have the same displays in their respective lobbies.
They also host birthday parties, packages are very affordable and include a good amount of amenities.
Parking is good, and it is located conveniently on Rt. 9 in Waretown, on the border of Barnegat, just north of the Big Lots shopping center & McDonald's, on the southbound side.
I am not an employee of the company, or affiliated with them in any way. I am lucky to have been able to visit another of their locations in Clearwater, FL for the past 2 years, and really enjoyed going there with our children when we were on vacation. Both locations are set up in the same manner, with the same layout and equipment, which put our children at ease when this location opened. If you travel and see one, it will be approximately the same. We just really like it, and felt very comfortable bringing our moderately autistic child & sibling to, when we couldn't go anywhere else at the time. They now love going, and have really progressed because of it!
Please do yourself a favor and bring your kids here, just to let off some steam and have a great time! It's the place where you NEVER have to say...
Read moreThe first time my son went there he had an absolute blast. It seemed clean and there were toys and activities sure why variety of ages. I have since gone back twice. Both times I looked on their Facebook for their open play times like the website says two. Both times I looked there was absolutely nothing since January so I had to take the risk and go there because my son was so excited to go back. Both times we were turned away saying they open later than normal or have a private party. These times were not on their Facebook. I am so disappointed and my son was so upset. They need to do a better job of updating their Facebook. Once they do, I’m sure I’ll be there...
