Beware of the weekend crowds during sports seasons! One time, we tried to come to John Landes park on a Saturday and there were so many families here for baseball and soccer that there was not single parking spot in sight. We ended up driving over to a different park and coming back here on a weekday morning. It was so quiet! There was only one other family on the playground and a couple people letting their dogs run in the baseball fields. My favorite part about this park was the beautiful mature trees which offered a lot of shade!

Read moreGood for my experience practicing softball until an entire soccer team decided to set up their practice in the outfield (when we were there about an hour before them AND gave them fair warning that we were doing batting practice and frequently hit the outfield and rear fence) they still set up their goals and just played SOCCER right in the middle of the softball outfield as if we didn't even exist out there SO we continued our batting practice as if they didn't exist either.
