MiraCosta College Community Learning Center — Local services in Oceanside

Roadblock on roadblock trying to apply/enroll. Application does into limbo and you never hear back despite them saying you will. Had to go in person six times...

In addition, you get passed around a whole bunch a and they promise you all these great things and programs like the CARE program or financial aid but the reality is they never come true.

A big problem is that there seems to be a lot of young people - students or recent grads - who don't know what they're doing. I was referred to at least four employees that literally didn't know how to help me despite their director/manager referring me to them. So then you're left 1) figuring it out on your own and 2) teaching their staff how to do their jobs in which case I now want to be paid forgive a tuition reduction for the hassle I went through only for me to teach them how to do their jobs.

I have also heard many of the classes they say will transfer don't end up transferring.

This just goes to show community college is not remotely on the same level of quality as a private college. Don't waste your time or money going here. Go to a Univ Calif or Calif. State Univ...

I had an excellent experience at the MiraCosta College Community Learning Center and its Testing Center. From the moment I walked in, the front desk staff and every employee I encountered were incredibly friendly, helpful, and encouraging. The atmosphere is warm, supportive, and welcoming; it really makes a difference, especially during testing. The facility itself is clean, quiet, and a truly amazing space for learning and focus.
