My card was lost and because I have a micro premie on specialty formula I depend on benefits to pay for it at $33 a can. I didn’t want to wait the 10 business days for my card to come into the mail and so I just went in person. The ladies at the desk were so kind and patient and the security guards were very nice too, but the gentleman in the back was very short and careless with me. I got halfway home and he had printed me somebody else’s card with an entirely different name and different number. I turned my car around to trade it out and he had my card waiting right there. No phone call or anything. On top of that, my name is spelt incorrectly, and when I asked him if it mattered that the spelling didn’t match my drivers license, he got up from his desk and walked off and ignored me. Friday arrived at 1pm. 18 ppl in waiting room ahead of me. Was told they close at 4pm and I should leave; come back an hour before they open on Monday because they probably weren't going to get to everyone already waiting or I could call their office. I called from DHS lobby. The hold time was estimated at 418 minutes ( that's almost 7 hours on hold!) I chose to stay and wait there. I was seen in under 3 hours. The associate was kind, knowledgeable, and polite. Shameful DHS policies and scheduling have their office so understaffed causing lengthy wait times.
