Curveball Kitchen Review: A Swing and a Miss on My First Visit ⚾🍽️ I was genuinely excited to try Curveball Kitchen after seeing countless TikToks and Instagram posts showcasing their elevated take on ballpark-style food. The concept—gourmet stadium fare—had me intrigued, and I decided to check it out on a busy Friday night. Despite not having a reservation, I was able to grab a seat at the bar, which was a blessing given how packed the place was. The energy was lively, and the service from the bartender was attentive and friendly throughout the evening. I started with the Base Runner cocktail, a tropical rum blend with a light fizz—refreshing and not overly strong. I also asked the bartender to craft something off-menu, and the green tea-inspired drink they whipped up was crisp and satisfying. So far, so good. We placed our appetizer order about 15 minutes after arriving, followed by our entrées shortly after. Unfortunately, that’s where things began to unravel. Despite the staff’s best efforts, our food didn’t arrive until over an hour later, around 9:28 p.m.—and when it did, it was clear something had gone wrong in the kitchen. - The sweet chili garlic boneless wings were soggy and cold, as if they’d been sitting out for quite some time. - My entrée, the Ranger Dog (bacon-wrapped with jalapeños), had melted cheese—but it looked aged and rubbery, like it had been sitting under a heat lamp far too long. The beef dog itself was lukewarm, and the chili was cold. - The fries were barely warm with minimal crisp. - My guest’s Double Play Cheeseburger also had melted cheese, but it appeared processed and stale—again, likely from sitting out too long. The patties were cold, and the requested sides were missing. As someone who reviews food regularly, I couldn’t help but notice a dozen untouched drinks sitting on the bar, slowly melting as they waited to be delivered. Eventually, the manager stepped in, noticed the backlog, and began addressing the situation. She was gracious and transparent, explaining that the kitchen was experiencing technical difficulties. She offered to remake our meals, but after such a long wait and disappointing presentation, we declined. She kindly comped our food and offered two drinks on the house, which was appreciated. The dessert, surprisingly, was the highlight of the night—well-executed and enjoyable, second only to the drinks. Curveball Kitchen has a promising concept and excellent front-of-house service, but the kitchen execution on this visit fell far short. I’m hopeful they’ll iron out the kinks in the coming months, but for now, I’ll be holding off on bringing the family until they’ve had time to refine their process. With a simple menu and such strong potential, I truly hope they find their rhythm soon. Rating: 1/5 for food quality, 5/5 for service and hospitality.

Oh my gosh we had an amazing time! Be prepared to SWEAT! You rent your spot, they take you through a tutorial on how all it works, and you are off to the races competing!! Our server Tea was phenomenal!!! I can’t tell you how wonderful she truly was, there aren’t words for how kind she was! She was extremely attentive, we never had to ask for refills of anything, she was right there offering! She had stuff out in such a fast pace time, I was truly shocked! We read some mixed reviews and sure I was nervous, but now I can promise you we will always be back! All I can say is the staff was phenomenal, they are attentive, they are kind - and the manager Brian was a true vibe. He was kind, walked around to every couple there and asked how things were, if he could do anything, and would just have friendly conversation with you, and honestly hype everyone up which was awesome! The food was great, the drinks were cold, the games were fun, I sweat and I’m sure I’ll be sore tomorrow- but that was SUCH A GREAT TIME!! Thank you Brian and Tea, we can’t thank you enough!

Where should I begin.... worst food service and price for food we have had! We were staying at the new resort Okana and wanted to eat somewhere that was on the property, open lateish and had kid friendly food. We decided after looking over all the menus of the places on the property that we all decided at 8p to go to Curveball. We should have done our research though because after the horrible evening we found out that they had just recently opened a day or two before this night🙄

We walked there without a reservation, was told it would be like a 30 min wait which we were fine with, so within 10 minutes our phone went off saying our table was ready, at 840p. We tell the hostess and she said it would be a minute because the table wasn't cleaned off yet. So we waited about 5 more minutes. Our server came over relatively fast and took our drink orders. I originally ordered the Baserunner cocktail but when our drinks the drink that I received was The Babe. I'm not one to complain so I just decided since the Babe was a cheaper cocktail I would drink it. We next placed our orders, a mac n cheese for me, the Ranger dog for my husband, kids mac n cheese and fries for my son, a corn dog and fries for my other son and a pretzel with cheese for our appetizer. It was pretty late so I figured we could all nibble on the pretzel while we waited for our food. We then waited, and waited and waited and waited. We had put in our food order about 850p. I asked about 15 mins later if our appetizer was going to come out before our food cuz the kids were getting pretty restless and hangry at this point. Out server said the kitchen was backed up and she would check on it for us and we were informed later that they were still working on it. About 930p we had another dad from a nearby table ask how long we had been waiting for our food and we said about 25-30 mins. He informed us they had been waiting for over an hour for chicken tenders and fries more or less. They had more people, but we were soon met with the realization around us that had other tables all with no food either. We soon saw the manager guy talking to several tables that looked irrate. And there was another table we saw the manager comp their BILL! We Finally about 945p got our pretzel with cheese and it was a HUGE pretzel, but it was semi warm and the cheese that came with it I could not stomach because it was cold and seemed curdled or thats how it was supposed to be, but I couldn't eat it. Then about 7 mins later, an HOUR AFTER PUTTING IN OUR ORDER, we got our food. So the only person that enjoyed his meal was my son, the rest of us, I would have been better off eating at Mcdonalds. I got mac n cheese with bacon. Only thing good in that was the bacon. It seemed like there was no noodles in the mac and cheese. It's like they put the cheese and noodles in a blender and then baked it. I kept asking my husband if there was rice in the mac n cheese because there were no noodles that I could identify. My husband's ranger dog looked like it had been under a heat lamp for 30 plus mins. Also with his meal he was supposed to get the option of fries or these homemade chips and he was just given fries. My other son was supposed to get a corn dog and he was brought a hotdogs with the ketchup and mustard on it already. Only thing he ate was the fries and LOVED the plastic dinosaur the hot dog came on. We then kept being asked if our food was good and we just decided to not be that millionth table to complain, because if we had they would have tried to remake the dinner and then we would have been there til almost 11p probably. We asked for boxes, like we were going to eat the food once we left. But our bill once receiving the check was close to $100!!! Another thing I did not appreciate is once the waitress gave us our ticket, she just stood there waiting for us to hand her our card. Like I had to sit there in front of her and look over the bill before she left with my card. Please wait awhile until they fix these problems! They needed a some soft openings...

What a horrible experience. I am truly amazed by how terrible this place is from the beginning to the end for my son’s 11th birthday with his family and friends. Let’s start with you make a reservation and we waited 30 minutes after the time after they kept saying “couple more minutes”, which I get it happens but this was just the beginning of our experience. Also, it was not busy at all in this place for the delay we had. Next, we finally get back to our bay and we start ordering drinks the server missed half of our drinks. She then just comes and sets a tray of drinks on one of the tables and leaves not telling anyone their drinks were dropped off or what they were. My three kids never even got a drink in the hour we were there, which was not due to lack of attempts. I personally asked for 3 sprites twice to our waitress and once at the bar. She then shows up and is ready to take food orders, whether we are or not so we. All start rushing to get ordered, I barely had gotten the kids names in to start playing because the clock was going down so that was my top priority. About half way through our orders of 20 people and multiple families shes says oh we can’t split the check in more than 2 ways, uhm excuse me? For this many people? That is exactly how I worded it. She said “no that’s our policy our system can’t do that it just can’t handle that” so I turn to my brother and say “wow well that would be nice to know with this many people” and she chimes in saying well everyone just needs to Venmo one person. Uhm ok but still would have been nice to know, especially with the prices at the establishment! I then turn to my brother and say “that’s fine we will just eat when we leave” and she chimes in “it’s on the website babe” in a very rude tone. My brother then turns to her and says “she was talking to me and that comment wasn’t warranted” I then immediately get out my phone looking, I can’t find this on the website ANYWHERE because I would have had that planned with all these families ahead of time or just went elsewhere. We then begin to book a reservation and still can’t find it so I ask her where it is on the website and she just walks off. Maybe 20 minutes later she comes back shuts the “garage door” security follows her and tells my brother he needs to leave for cursing at the waitress. THAT NEVER HAPPENED. he got kicked out over her taking offense to him telling her that she didn’t need to chime in and an eye roll. She didn’t know where it was on the website is the real issue and didn’t know how to respond other than “it’s on the website” I just wanted to see where this was on the website, and possibly how small of print because that is a big deal honestly. What if people order all that then can’t split the check so a bill can’t be paid on one persons card? I mean a mixed drink is $18 so it easily adds up and not all people at this establishment would be able to do that so I wanted to see the print of that on the website. No one could show where it was. After about 20 minutes of my brother being kicked out with his screaming 5 year old, wife, and newborn I get an alert on my phone my reservation had been canceled. A few minutes later they come in and tell us we need to leave and point at the cake and presents and say that needs to be done elsewhere. My son’s 11th birthday party was then spent in the parking lot all because of an eye roll and comment to not chime in basically, no foul language or aggression to her at all. Now for the actual game, you spend a good amount of money on this bay. The game froze half of the time we were there and your time still continues to go down! You have no way to call a server to come fix it and just have to hope someone will show up quickly. We waited 30 minutes on the game being fixed in an hour time slot. It would be nice if time would stop or they would have someone easily available to quickly get you back up with how often the machine freezes. Restroom was absolutely disgusting also, for being open a week and not busy at all you would expect a...

This was the worst experience I have ever had. Wish 0 stars was an option.

We visited this place for my nephews birthday party and it ended with cake and presents in the parking lot 🙁

To start our reservation was made for 7pm and we waited 30 minutes to get to our batting area. Outside of it being a week day and it delaying the drive home for people who drove all the way from thomas to be there this was not a huge deal. The kids were playing and adults all chatting still in great spirits.

Once we got to our batting area is when everything started to really go down hill. To start the customer service was the worst customer service I have ever seen. In the batting area there is 2 tables and a lounge area with sofas. The server started by taken drink orders. One of the little girls ordered a dr pepper sitting in the lounge area fast forward 15 minutes the little girl checks on her drink and the server tells her “oh it’s on that table” 10 feet away. To me this is so lazy and careless of the server. Not only did she not hand her drink but she couldn’t even let her know her drink was there. Fast forward to ordering food I felt as tho the server was rushing us to order so I hurry and get my sons and husbands order as she’s going around and she waits till she is about halfway through our party when she lets us know that was can only split the check 2 ways. When we question her on why this is she says “ well yall can Venmo or cash app” seeing that we were not happy with this answer she says the will talk to her manager. Manger comes in and says “ well we do this because it is better for our systems”. I didn’t know we were here to serve there needs but okay. There meals are $16 beers are $10 and cocktails are $20. With a group out 20-25 that tab would have been outrageous for one person to pay and then have to calculate who all owes you what. The whole group decided not to eat there delaying our night more because we now have to stop on our way home for food. All this just to speak to there service….

Now for there games… we paid for an hour play and at least 25 mins of that the game was down. They would fix it and it would go down again. They took forever to come fix it and at the rate it was going down they should hire someone just to fix the game saving some of our time. By the way if the game goes down your clock does not stop. It got to a point we had a parent going to fix the game.

The icing on the cake was when they kicked my husband out for absolutely no reason. When they mentioned the no splitting checks the mom that paid for the party was obviously frustrated and ranting to her brother that this was never mentioned, in the most disrespectful way the server chimed in saying “it’s on the website babe” all my husband said was “she was venting to me”. 30 minutes later security says that they want him to leave. Everyone was so taken back and frustrated but he said it’s not a huge deal I don’t want the birthday party ruined and we gathered our things and our bawling kid and left. 20 mins later they decided to stir the pot more and said “ yall can do this elsewhere” pointing at the cake and presents kicking the rest of the party out. So our night ended with cake and presents in the parking lot.

Absolutely do not take the your friends and...
