Urban Teahouse — Restaurant in Oklahoma City

The atmosphere is nice that so for sure, the tea is good too. I am just not a fan of the takeout only rule. It is not made clear they are takeout only. I think it gives the employees a bad look when they have to kick you out because you aren’t aware that they are takeout only. There are chairs and tables inside and so you can only assume that you’re able to enjoy your tea there. Also I don’t love that they didn’t explain why they are takeout only. Management or whoever handles the situation should make it clear to customers that they are takeout only. If I were an employee I would not appreciate having to ask people to leave when they are new customers that is so unwelcoming. I just recommend a sign or automatically telling customers before they order that it is takeout only. I think that would fix this problem. Maybe they have gone to these measures and I’m not aware or the staff that day didn’t follow through I don’t know. But I just wanted to write a really honest review and let future new customers know. I will be going back to urban tea house on a regular basis though for the flavor of the tea. I also would like to add they ask what sweetness you want your tea from 1-3 and I think that is very nice. However they don’t offer sugar packets if you want it more sweet, that is odd to me. The first time I went in the staff was accommodating and gave me a little tin with sugar. Friendly staff. Superb customer service. Wonderful tea.

I visited several times over several trips to OKC for work. Each time I had great conversations with the staff in general and regarding their teas in general. I enjoyed the calming atmosphere, the on-site brewed tea per staff recommendations, and smelling a variety of teas before purchasing several for my trip home. The range of selection and the quality of the tea were wonderful as well.

Fast forward to September 2020. Since I live out of state, I made an online purchase recently. While there was a mix up and some mail troubles with the initial order, the staff were absolutely a pleasure to communicate with and were able to get the order resolved in a manner well beyond expectations.

Staff is more than willing to show you different teas, give you details about them, and craft the perfect beverage for your tastes.
