Itās illegal to change the posted price when the customer goes to the counter to purchase. Regardless of what u think u are selling u need to honor those prices. This illegal practice is known as bait n switch . Itās totally illegal ..Any manager in retail should know this. It makes the store loose itās reputation as an honest place to shop and people not want to shop there. Any high end store will honor their posted prices regardless of their looses but a thrift store who receives their items for free refuse to do so makes u wonder what is really going on behind close doors . . . Update to owners response.: Iām sorry this is so wrong on so many levels. None of the ties had a specific price just a SIGN that stated $2.99 for the ties . They were not marked boutique or anything to indicate they were going to be a different price . The manager tried to charge $15 for each tie instead of $2.99 which is the posted price . I had other items that were boutique items so I can understand them being $ 11, $17 etc and I saw other items marked $120 and $250 etc which I chose not to purchase because they were so overpriced but that is a choice I can make as a knowledgeable consumer but This is totally illegal . U cannot change prices just because u feel like it or for your own personal reasons or u think the customer will pay it because they really like something. U cannot justify illegal activity to make ur store or the manager look good . Itās...
Ā Ā Ā Read more3.5 stars. Rating based on looking at women's clothing, shoes, handbags, paintings, lamps. On a positive note, store was well lit, well organized, clothing was organized by size and color and staff was very friendly. However, some pricing did not seem 'thrift' to me. There are set prices depending on type of clothing. Certain items are marked higher on the tags if they are exceptions. 1) IMHO, some of the clothing should also be marked lower too. Saw ripped shorts and set price for 'Activewear' is $8. They were not a name brand as far as I could tell. 2) Paintings and lamps cost more than similar items at TJMaxx. $39.99 for 1 painting that was probably 15"x15". I saw lamps there for 79.99 3) Name brand bags like coach and Kate spade are more than what goodwill would charge. Kate spade purse for $179 is too much money for 'thrift'. Despite all the 'high' costs, I did buy a couple articles of clothing. I would go back because of the lovely atmosphere and I liked the pieces of clothing...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGood selection here. I purchased a few very fun vintage homewares I loved. Admittedly, some of the homewares I picked up but ultimately did not buy were priced in line with a curated antiques shop, or even above the going rate for certain items, which was unfortunate as there was more I would've bought if it was priced appropriately. $149 is just not the going retail rate for a small rattan 70s shelf - I just purchased a larger version from an estate in the area last weekend for $29, which puts in perspective that it should have been maybe $49 if it were priced to make a profit but still move. I will check in here regularly. They do color tag sales, but I really didn't even see any of the tag color that they were running as part of this month's sale. I commend the merchandising efforts as the store was organized and upkept for the most part more like a department store than a thrift shop. The clothing area was very organized and clean. Employees were...
