Bought some beautiful patio furniture from them. We weren't given the option to opt in for delivery, which we would have gladly paid for by we didn't mind picking it up.
I called to confirm the items would be waiting and that the table would be disassembled to allow it to fit in my car. The associate confirmed it would be ready upon irrival and the table was easy to disassemble, I asked that she confirm with the warehouse staff about disassembling the table and she came back with a confirmation. Therefore my husband and I drove almost an hour to the pickup location for our order. Upon arrival we went into their main showroom and entered to 3 staff members in the main area, one on the phone helping a customer and the other two doomscrolling on there phone. We waited patiently for the one associate to get off the phone to ask for help when one of the others finally looked up from their phone and with a very demeaning attitude, as if we had inconvenience her with our presence, finally looked up and asked what we wanted, and she told us we needed to see another associte further down the store, that other employee finally taking us to go to the warehouse.I don't want to assume the worst about the showroom staff, but it almost felt like they assumed we were out of place (our age? Race? Idk?) as if we couldn't afford their items and it wasnt worth their effort to speak to in a respectful manner. We walked out to dead silence as they watched us walked out, not even a "have a good day" or anything despite us departing with pleasantries, making the experience rather uncomfortable and surreal. We went to the warehouse, the staff here was very nice, which was their on only saving grace. There, we were informed that we were lied to by whoever I spoke to and the table did not come apart meaning that it would not be able to fit in my car. So now I'm left with no furniture which I paid for, a waste of 2 hours, and having to figure out alternatives to pickup the furniture after being mislead by the store.
The disappointment could have easily been avoided if the staff was just truthful and a smidge more attentive with better customer service. I would have made alternative pickup plans from the beginning instead of wasting my time. I will NEVER return to this store, you would expect more from a place that claims to be proud of their upscale status and their ownership history. Very...
Read moreI was really disappointed by this store. My wife and I spent around $15,000 on furniture here including a bedroom set and a mattress and delivery. The overall quality of the furniture is high, except two issues:
The mattress is defective. I’m about a foot deeper than my wife in “high-tech version of memory foam” and no matter how much we flip and rotate this king-sized mattress, it’s simply a failed technology. We called them and said that this was not a good mattress and wanted to return it for a “less experimental” mattress and they refused. They sent someone to the house to apparently “took measurements” of the mattress divots, but we had already rotated the mattress, so the divots on the particular day were less than the 8’’ differential they require to operate with integrity. They sold a bad mattress - they shouldn’t have offered it as a high-end product and it wasn’t tested. Own up to it and remove the defective mattress from your floor and I would have been a customer forever.
We paid extra on our entire order for delivery. Keep in mind, we live about a mile from the store in Old Saybrook. The order was ready in three parts. The final delivery was for a bench we bought for the bedroom. Weeks went by - no-call-no-show. I call them to discover that they’ve had the bench and it’s been sitting in their storage waiting for me to pick it up. I explained, “sorry, I actually paid for delivery on all the items as a premium above the normal cost, so what’s a good day to bring the bench by :)”. They refused to honor the delivery obligations I paid for and I eventually picked up the bench myself and vowed never to return.
They have some nice furniture, don’t get me wrong, but they have the customer service of a bygone era and don’t meet the standards assumed with the...
