Mattress Plus — Local services in Old Saybrook

Buyer Beware. We felt they were helpful, however,they did not disclose a very expensive exchange fee. Buy direct from Tempurpedic instead to avoid hassles and an enormous exchange fee.

We were not sure about the Tempurpedic because of the cost as well as my experience with similar memory foams that maintain heat. We purchased a Tempurpedic split king bed because they told us we could exchange it if we did not like it. They also told me it would not maintain heat.

The bed was so hot I would wake up in sweats every night. We decided to exchange the bed. To our surprise there was a 20% exchange fee we had to pay which was never discussed. Read the fine print before signing! When I explained that the bed was maintaining heat and way too hot I was told that other consumers had reported that as well.

The back and forth with them was difficult and unnecessarily lengthy. Yes, it was during CoVid but it shouldn’t take 3 months for a credit to show up on my card. They kept calling my home phone when I told them many times to call our cell phones. Lots of excuses.

In the end we had to settle for a bed that was not a Tempurpedic split king. I could not afford to pay the additional money to purchase the Tempurpedic model with cooling technology. We had to settle for a beautyrest without the split king. Not only did we lose $$ but we also don’t get the good nights sleep we had paid for.

I will never purchase from them or another sleep shop again. I am going direct from now on. Consider...

We bought a mattress a couple of years ago (from an online-only store) and the longer we had it, the more our backs hurt, so we decided to cut our losses and give that one up, and go mattress shopping at Mattress Plus in Old Saybrook. We are new to the area and didn’t know a lot about Mattress Plus, but my husband did the “first round” of looking around for new mattresses in the area, and came home and told me how nice he was treated at Mattress Plus and went on and on about their selections, good pricing, and customer service there, so I decided to go check it out after he came home really impressed with the store. Upon arriving at the store, we were greeted by Fadi, who listened to all of our needs and what we were looking for in a bed/mattress, and provided us with excellent options based on our needs. Not only that, he really took great care of us and gave us a great deal. We felt well taken care of at Mattress Plus and can’t say enough good things about this business....

I went into Mattress Plus in Old Saybrook last week with my girlfriend looking to explore some options with a low budget. Fadi was more than accommodating for us. He provided us with options that were within our budget and some potential upgrades that would only be slightly higher. He was so knowledgable on every item in the store providing input, and listening to what we had to say. Fadi didn't pressure us into any hasty decisions and made us feel comfortable making a very important purchase. He found us the perfect bed and helped us work through the financing process in order to actually leave the store with the mattress that day.
