First and foremost, I have to say I fell in love with the atmosphere and the service of the bartender the first time around and to top it off the food was perfect for the bar atmosphere. Since my first visit, I’ve visited four other times and I drive close to three hours one way. That’s how much I enjoyed my first two visits. Since those two visits, I have tried the potato skins which were a bit untraditional and not really for me but since I’m not from the area, I don’t rate. Otherwise may very well love it. Since that was a flop, I ordered a ribeye steak next time I went and got a NY strip instead. I still ate it no problem and just assumed maybe the cook isn’t familiar with their cuts of meet. It was was still medium well as I ordered and not overly seasoned as I believe a steak should be. This last time I went, I ordered another ribeye and this time around I didn’t even get a NY strip. This cut I received was more like a London broil. I did not blame the cook this time. Even thought our bartender attempted to save face. I now believe it’s an owner decision to try to substitute the ribeye with a cheaper cut which is absolutely fine. What isn’t fine is keeping the ribeye on the menu and hoping the customer won’t say anything or don’t know any better when they receive what they clearly didn’t order. This could be a stretch and again their cook could be incompetent or just doesn’t care. Either way they should figure that out. I’m unsure about a next visit. Maybe just for drinks and the atmosphere next time and some fries. Those are definitely the best fries...
Read moreStopped in on a recommendation they said it was motorcycle friendly, We traveled from Long Island for a day trip. Walked in at 2pm was told sit anyplace by a young woman, someone will be over well no one came over. We then went outside and sat at a high top which we saw a sign that said no service......ok so we went into the back area which felt like another restaurant which had outside seating so we asked a rude bartender..... I'm guessing a bartender you want to eat you won't get service at those high tops. We responded is this outside seating area also part of the same place and she the' bartender" sarcastically snapped with a quick, yes, this is ours. You can sit anywhere. WOW give her a raise So we did sit anywhere, At another restaurant in Essex right on water service was fantastic as well as the food We are all professionals who went to a restaurant to try and enjoy a nice lunch in Connecticut wellllll..... We we're met with a very unhappy employee Good luck "Bartender" its a shame to drive away business see how long that works out for you hopefully your relatives...
