This place was a No Frills before they got bought out. I was optimistic about the change as No Frills were pretty terrible grocery stores regardless of location. However, nothing really changed outside of branding.
I've purchased food here on several occasions that had already been opened or had expired. A customer should never have to look for opened food, ever, as this is a basic requirement of any store worth frequenting. Actually it's pretty insane that it happened at all, much less more than once.
The store is very dated, looks old, sells food that may be inedible, and has lackluster service. The most recent time I was there (about a week ago) I needed to find a battery and was wondering around. I had no less than 4 employees walk by me without asking if I needed help finding something. The selection isn't bad, but when you can't trust what you're buying it doesn't matter.
There's literally no reason for me to recommend this grocery store. There's a Bakers next door that, although being pretty bad for a Bakers, is infinitely better than this place. There's also a Hy-Vee drugstore about a mile north on 30th St that I'd recommend over this place.
Family Fare needs to decide if it's worth pouring money into this place to increase security and update it's appearance or whether this place is destined to remain a hellhole and a blight. Right now, I'd recommend to anyone that they not only avoid this store like the plague but that they also avoid Family Fare in general until they decide they don't want to be a bargain-basement grocery chain. This location is no better than the No Frills that it replaced, which was possibly the worse grocery store I've...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am a journalist and content creator who is deeply concerned about the appalling decline in customer service behavior in our community. As such, I have decided to undertake an extensive piece to address this growing issue in Omaha.
You are receiving this review as a fair warning that your establishment may be a subject of this investigation, based on the unacceptable behavior I witnessed from your cashier working the register on Friday, 1/17/25, around 6:15 PM.
I do not target establishments without just cause. However, once I experience behavior warranting scrutiny, I begin deploying secret shoppers who record their interactions. If I observe this individualāor anyone elseātreating customers poorly again, I will send the recordings and employee names to your corporate office as a first step, giving you a fair chance to address the issue. If no action is taken, your business will be included in the story.
It is uncommon for journalists to provide advance notice to their subjects, but as an entrepreneur who values the vitality of small businesses in our community, I believe in giving businesses the opportunity to correct issues before they escalate. This review is intended as a fair warning to those who are genuinely trying to uphold good standards and ensure their management addresses such problems promptly.
I sincerely hope I never have to publish this piece, as that would mean no businesses have been harmed by it. However, I cannot stand idly by while this kind of behavior continues to poison our community. Consider this your opportunity to address the problem and ensure it does not escalate to public or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOnly reason I go here is for the chicken. Their prices are way too high. They don't price compare with any of the other grocery store prices. I wouldn't buy bubble gum from this store. Strictly Chicken!! The chicken is great most of the time. Update: They have a slow one working there now. She not slow in speed, she slow like slow mentally. I ordered a 10 piece dark and got an 8 piece. Got all the way home they wanted me to bring the chicken back. Brought it back and they didn't have what I ordered so now I'm waiting for the 20 piece dark like I don't have other stuff to do. Thankfully, I was able to speak with a "real" manager and he rectified the situation and showed great customer service. My point is this, don't just take the employees words for it. They manage their area. If you need help speak with their manager. My faith in business has been restored. Thanks Manager. I didn't catch his name but he knows how to make...
