So I LOVE this new place! I don't usually write reviews but this restaurant has moved me to do so because despite their very recent opening they've already won me over!
For those unaware, a common street food in Korea is a corn dog or cheese dog with certain types of breading (ex. potato chunks in breading, Ramen, hot cheetos) and this restaurant offers it. It is my favorite thing to get! I get the whole mozzarella cheese dog with hot cheeto breading and spicy mayo sauce on the side and it is to DIE for. I usually don't eat anything spicy, not even hot cheetos, but the decadent creaminess of the sauce and cheese balances it out for a delicious meal everytime I go!
I also have taken to getting their Lychee Fruit Tea which comes with crystal Boba and little pieces of fruit as well and it is delightful! The Boba isn't too chewy for some like normal tapioca, it's almost like a small chew candy!
As for the service, it is phenomenal! Every time I come in I always feel welcomed and have never had any less than pleasant exchanges. Unfortunately I have not yet gotten his name but the man that serves me every time is very kind and truly understands how to run a restaurant!
So don't write this place off due to how new it is, because you'll be missing out on a real diamond in the rough. And to everyone at Chick Bo-Bao, thank you...
Read moreI live in the neighborhood and have been waiting for this to open! It's very clean and neat on the inside. Atmosphere is very inviting. I ordered the wings, chicken fried rice and three donuts. Fried rice is made w white meat and you get a large portion easily shareable with one or two people. I do feel it was a little on the bland side, however it comes with a side of yum yum sauce and of course that makes everything better! My rice and wings were both hot and fresh! The sauce for the wings come on the side in a nice large condiment container. I tried Korean bbq, sauce was good! I was in Korea recently so when I hear Korean fried chicken I would hope it's close to being authentic. It's similar, but not the same. It's good if you're looking for something fried! I will defiantly be back, probably not for these items again, but to try other food on the menu. We haven't eaten the donuts yet, but they are super cute and "made fresh". That's what I was told anyways! I'm glad this place is open and hope it sticks around for awhile. There aren't many options...
Read moreThe drinks and boba are pretty good, and the chicken itself is alright sometimes, but everything else has just been...bad. The couple sauces my wife and I have tried for the chicken have been incredibly bland. The chicken fried rice shows no signs being fried by any definition, and the chicken looks like it was boiled lightly and then chucked in the rice (it's whiter than an Alaskan in winter, and not seasoned at all). The donuts tasted like doughy, sugary puff of nothingness. The chicken sandwich was similarly somehow OK, but devoid of flavor or spice. I can forgive a flavor or taste that doesn't hit right with me, but there really hasn't been flavor to begin with. Go for the drinks, recommend staying away...
