5-stars because it's really the only full-service hardware and materials type of store in the local area. The staff is friendly and helpful... most of all, they seem to be patient with customers every time I'm in there. The prices seem fair and are definitely competitive, even with items that are also found in Walmart. They do a ton of business, which allows them to stay affordable for local folks, yet still make a profit. The employees there today are all familiar faces from previous years, from the youngest to the eldest, which says they're happy and being treated fairly; that makes for an even better customer experience due to happy workers. The store is clean and everything is labeled. They are also a UPS Drop-off Site, where you never have to ask for a package receipt, even on Free Returns, such as Amazon. I feel like they would still perform at a 5-star level, even with local competition of a similar nature, or if they were located in a larger market, like Salisbury, where manners and service are often forgotten because every customer is most likely NOT someone they know. Great place, not just a typical true value hardware, they have a full lumberyard and all the basics are usually available, and they can order anything. Also they're a Milwaukee dealer and take care of warranty and service issues very easily. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the rental equipment is limited and geared toward homeowners projects, which is a bit of a problem for contractors who need actual commercial equipment.
