First of all, when you pay several grand for a one week stay you would expect better. Our condo was filthy. Our feet were black the entire time from the dirty floors. Our desk chair was peeling and falling apart without anyone even sitting in it. Our refrigerator didnt keep cold and leaked all over the floor the entire time of our stay. We made multiple calls to the front desk to have that issue addressed. No one ever called or came to check. In one room the two twin beds were so loose that every time you sat on one you felt like it was going to collapse. The master bed room dressers were missing knobs for the drawers, so they had to be left open! If not, I had to get someone to pry it open! These are just the simple issues we had. Our luggage rack from our truck ended up getting stolen out of the parking garage!!! One security guard told us that it was probably a local group who gets dropped off to steal things from guests and then gets picked back up on different levels of the parking garage. Then he said they would check the cameras and get back to us. That ofcourse never happened. After waiting another day to get a response my husband and I went to talk to the FM about the issue. We were told to contact the Orange county police because there were no cameras in the parking garage. 1, I am a manager myself and I have never once told a customer to contact the police. We call them and get them there for you. 2, my husband then pointed to the screen behind the manager and told him that he was looking at the camera on the entrance of the parking garage. We were told there was really nothing they could do. He also said he looked at the report we had made initially when we found it had been stolen. But, he asked what day, what time, what the racked looked like. If he had looked at the report, why was he asking us all of these questions? He obviously never looked. My husband then told the FM that if we were paying that amount of money to stay in a nice condo, then we needed someone to contact us and atleast TRY to fix this! Well guess what!!! We never received a call!!! Still havnt. On top of that.. we got stuck in one of the elevators. A few other families were with us and said this was their 3rd time being stuck in one that week!!! We had to push the emergency call light to get us out. All in all, for the money we paid for this place, it was down right rediculous. I suggest to everyone to not even waste your time on them. I have never written a bad review to anyone or place in my life. This one I just couldnt resist. To the owner, dont bother writing back. Nothing was done during our stay, so there is no point in...
Read moreThis was my first year attending our church's ladies' retreat. They always go to Orange Beach and always stay at the Phoenix West. There were 8 of us to this condo (1802). My typical lodging on family vacations can be characterized "affordable," so this place was a nice treat. The rooms were large and comfortable. The kitchen, living room, and dining area were gorgeous...open and airy. The balcony is ample with fantastic views. As a mom of 5, I notice the weirdest things, so I'll add that I loved how readily available their luggage carts and "shopping carts" were. The elevators were quick. The pool areas (inside and outside), as well as the beautiful lazy river, were well-kept. The master bedroom closet is big enough to fit a twin air mattress.
The only dealings I had with the front desk was trying to get my parking pass. It was approx. 6:15 pm on a Thursday, and there were 2 ladies working. There was only one guest in front of me, presumably checking in and making his parking arrangements. However, instead of one of the workers helping him and the other helping me, I waited for a good 10 minutes while they both attended to him. (This was not a trainee situation, that much was obvious.) It never was clear why they both had to wait on one guest. The only other issues I would note are 1. The floors in the condo were FILTHY. Walking without socks or shoes made the bottoms of my feet black. This was not from my friends and me. This was from the beginning of our trip. 2. I will never understand why hotels, etc. haven't yet figured out that people (especially women) need more than a soap cubby in the shower. There was no place to prop your foot to shave your legs (and we're at a beach...hello??) and there is only a tiny cubby to put your shampoo, conditioner, razor, soap, etc. And no place inside the shower to hang your washcloth. Minor annoyance but easy enough to fix with an over the showerhead shelf. Those 2 things aside, I was thoroughly pleased with this place. The location is fantastic. The beach is pristine. We had no noise issues. It was really great. In fact, I loved it so much that I am bringing my kids this summer to Phoenix III. These seem to be some of the nicest chains in...
Read moreThe location was amazing, the building is right on the beach, and the view from the 23rd floor was to die for! However, the building has 29 floors/7 condos per floor, and only 4 elevators. We waited up to 30 minutes for an elevator at times! The pools were very nice, however, they are tucked up against the building. We enjoyed spending time at the beach, but you need to go early to find a spot! Also, Wi-Fi service and cell service are non-existent. As for condo #2303, we were extremely disappointed in the cleanliness and condition of the unit overall. After walking bare foot for the first evening in the condo, our feet were disgusting from all the dirt and we wore shoes at all times for the remainder of the week. The floors were awful, there was sand and hair everywhere. There were cheerios on the floor by the couch (we did not have cheerios), and balls of dust and hair were gathered under furniture. The bathrooms showed visible mold including mold on the lights, shower curtains and tile in the master bathroom shower. The walk-up wet bar was also not cleaned. The shot glasses and shelves were sticky and dusty. The oven and kitchen appliances looked as though they had not been cleaned in several months. The furniture in the living room was worn and in need of repair including the rug on the floor with torn threads that could create a hazard for someone to trip and fall. Other items in the unit in need of maintenance included one bar stool that was falling apart and had to be set to the side so our children didn’t fall, the door stop at the main entrance was broken to the point where it would not stay up to allow the door to close so we had to tape it to the door for it to close. Additionally, the balcony was clearly not cleaned as there were food particles on the rug when we arrived. The balcony furniture was also rusting and many of the chairs had legs that were rusted through. For as much as we paid, I expected better conditions. Location was the only thing this unit had...
