After reading the reviews and searching for a nice restaurant to take my daughter out for her birthday dinner we came across this place and everyone agreed it looked great! My daughter and her friend both picked out what they wanted to eat beforehand and eagerly watched the clock until dinner time.
We were a party of 7 with a highchair. They seated us as a table for 9 with no highchair. This should’ve been red flag number one. I shrugged it off and asked for a highchair.
Our waiter then stood with his arms folded and watched me struggle to swap out the chair for the highchair. Again, I shrugged it off. We were barely seated before he began asking us for drinks and appetizers and appeared to have a very nonchalant /slightly annoyed demeanor.
Once the drinks came he placed them all on the edge of the table and didn’t even hand them to each one of our guests. It seemed odd but I figured it might’ve been a tight squeeze given the chair that I removed remained in the middle of the walkway. We ordered 2 appetizers. While the appetizers were flavorful, they were ice cold. I couldn’t even enjoy it but forced myself to finish because I hate wasting food.
Our entrees arrived shortly after and not one of our guests enjoyed any of the meals. My daughter is a pasta lover and she barely tasted it. Her friend’s pasta was 80% grease. My son had a kids Mac and Cheese. We couldn’t even identify it when it came to the table. It looked like a bowl of Alfredo sauce. My mother ordered a salad and asked several times for blue cheese on the side. I even reiterated what she said to be sure he heard and he nodded. Well wouldn’t you know it…a salad full of blue cheese arrived.
Having worked in the food industry I tend to give waitstaff plenty of grace. I get it! I typically overtip, eat my overcooked steak, shake it off if something is forgotten. However, I couldn’t bring myself to sit silent on this experience. The combination of ‘just ok’ food and the waiter’s poor attitude really put a damper on what was supposed to be a nice birthday dinner.
To add: The table next to us had a birthday. We planned on getting a dessert and singing Happy Birthday while there. We watched as he went through the motions of bringing out a cake to the other table, asked if they wanted to sing, and was barely audible or have a hint of enthusiasm while singing for them. It was so bad, my daughter begged us to just grab ice cream and for us not to tell him to sing to her.
We asked for takeout containers but didn’t even bring home the food. I normally would’ve spoken to a manager but we are not locals and leave early in...
Read moreThis was honestly one of the worst dining experiences I think I have had. I would give 0 stars if possible. My fiancé and I went for dinner and there was a 30 minute wait that ended up being closer to an hour, but we understand that it was the busy hour and had no issue waiting extra time. We have both worked in the service industry for a long time, things happen and as long as we’re met with kindness & attentiveness, any issue can be resolved. That wasn’t the case here. When we got seated at our table, there was literally a dirty plate at the table, that wasn’t removed until we got our waters. We were greeted after about 10 minutes by our server, she took our drink orders. We ordered 2 bar drinks and 2 waters. The waters alone took an additional 15 minutes and our drinks took 45 minutes or more, they arrived after the meal. The waters honestly tasted like cigarettes, I don’t know if the glasses were dirty or if there was something in the water but it was a foul taste. We didn’t see our server again until 10 mins after the food came out, and still didn’t have our drinks at that time. She then got our bar drinks about 5-10 mins later, but not once asked how the food was, if we needed anything, etc. The food was honestly not great, especially for the price. $38 for crab claws that actually came out cold, obviously had been sitting in or outside of the heat window, and almost half of them had no meat and were just claw ends. The blackend fish and shrimp were lukewarm. The only thing that came out hot was mac n cheese. We had to flag her down for the check after not seeing her again for a very long time. I didn’t see her interact with her tables in the section either, and every time she came back she reeked of cigarettes. We were super patient throughout this experience, and the wait and food issues could have been made better with good service, but this was some of the worst service I have had. Our bill was $100, no sort of discount or anything to make up for the 45+min drink time. Anyone that is looking for a good dining experience should ignore tourist traps like this place. We...
Read moreWe will certainly not return. For starters, when we walked up to the counter to get a spot in the digital line, the lady at the desk just looked at us. She didn't speak at all. I said "hello" thinking she needed me to initiate the conversation. She said "hello" back and then just continued to stare like she was waiting for me to say what I wanted. I finally told her, "We are here because we would like to eat." And she finally asked me how many we have with our party and proceeded to take our information for the wait. The wait was about 30 minutes which was okay if the restaurant was worth it. The place looked nice but man was I disappointed. My husband ordered a $43 seafood platter and the portion of food that came out left him still hungry afterwards. The platter was mostly fried food similar to what you'd see at a captain D's or something. We expected much larger portions for the price and much better food... maybe something that wasn't just dropped in a fryer and plated with a flower on top. I ordered coconut shrimp and they tasted like an air freshener. Not good at all. I gave them to my father to eat. They forgot my father's fries with his fried green tomatoe BLT. His BLT tasted okay but nothing special. My children ordered the fried fish and a pizza. Their food was as I'd expect. The lemonade was actually gross. I know my review sounds like I must be a picky eater but I'm not. I'm usually pretty tolerant of food. But this food was edible and that was it. I left there wishing we had gone to a waffle house or something instead. There is no way the chef thats in the kitchen has any idea what he is doing. The food needs a huge revamp. I'm no chef so it's sad when I can say I could easily out-cook this entire menu from my kitchen at home. The server we had was kind but he seemed like he was very tired from a long day. Maybe he was tired from a long day of unhappy tables due to lack of food quality.
Tldr; spend your money elsewhere. It's not worth it. You'll leave disappointed that you spent your money and time on eating the poor quality and small...
