Window Decor and More — Local services in Orange Beach

There is no other place to get blinds, Roman shades, and drapes than this establishment here. Nancy and and David came out to measure our windows and give us a free estimate on the cost of added drapes over all of our interior windows in our home. Because of the intricate crown molding above each window frame and door frame, it was difficult for my husband and I to do the window dressing ourselves. We went to Lowes, Home Depot, JcPenny, Target, Dillards, etc and no one had the specifications (lenght/width of rods, and length of drapes) to accommodate our needs. Luckily, after viewing Window Decor and More's (WD&M) 5 star rating, we knew this business was perfect for our wants/needs. The estimate took about two hours to do: we had 5 windows and 3 sets of doors that required drapes and a dining room that required Roman Shades. Nancy helped to guide my husband and I through the process and with selecting the fabric materials. Because it was our first time using this company, and because we got our entire house done, we were given 10% off. Nancy and David also had a payment plan that allowed us to pay 50% upfront and then the remaining was due when the drapes were installed. After placing the order, the drapes, which were custom-made, took 6 weeks to make. What would have only taken one day to complete installation, took two (each day a week a part) because the place that makes the drapes forgot to send a rod and one section of drapes. While this was not WD&M's fault, they did their best and worked their fastest to insure that we got the lost fabric ASAP and that my husband and I were satisfied to the fullest (which we are).

The service received was highly professional, regarding the ordering process and the installation was also very good. I bought a condo unit in Orange Beach. One suggestion: the unit has a window in one of the bedrooms which looks into a hallway, which stays brightly lit throughout the night. I ordered plantation shutters for this reason, as my experience with them in the past has been good. However, they do not completely limit the light coming in from the hallway, and it's enough to keep anyone awake in that room. I will have to get a black-out shade to install behind the plantation shutter. Others in my building have been through this before and say no plantation shutter can control full bright light. David was able to come to our beach condo the same day we called to request an estimate. He had already come and gone by the time his competitor Budget Blinds even returned my call. We had specialized hurricane windows installed but David was able to make a plantation shutter install suggestion that would work with our windows. He had us an estimate within a few hours. Since it was peak beach season David said it could take 6-8 weeks to receive and install the plantation shutters which we expected. We were very please when they called 2 weeks later and said they were ready to install. Installer was on time and installed perfectly.
