Before you reply management understand that I have read all your other Responses to reviews, Feel free to leave a negative sarcastic comment on my post also but I promise I am telling a 100% truth.
Our visit was July 5th 2022, Dinner about 7pm.
When you visit this place you're surprised at the location it seems to be set up in a strip mall which is not a bad thing just the parking is horrendous.
Once inside we left our name with Alexis, We were told we had an hour and a 1/2 wait however we read the reviews ahead of time and were very impressed so we thought it would be worth the wait we were wrong.
After we arrived and put our name on the list we noticed another group very large arrived of about 10 people. While we were waiting I noticed that about an hour into our weight these 10 people got seated. My wife went in to verify how they could get in before us and we were told that they had a reservation with the manager. My wife and I checked previous 2 coming to the big fish and there is a no reservation policy.
This exact same situation happened to other reviewers, We were told at that time that that the manager has holds the right to reserve for anyone that he wants. I suppose this is true but I believe it was Alexis next comments that struck us with a bad cord before we even were sitting. Alexis told my wife that she had not been waiting a full hour and a 1/2 yet that "I told you, your wait would be an hour and a 1/2" then as snarky as this immature, blonde bebopping girl, who should definitely NOT be in sales, retail or in charge of a seating assignment could be said, "you havent waited that long yet, I will let you know when your time is up".
As much as I wanted to fly off the handle I kept my cool and said nothing at the time Once we Seated it was a very short period of time before Solvia, Excuse the spelling, Showed up at our table to make suggestions and take our order.
She told us the wait was very long for our food but we told her we were willing to wait since you got such rave reviews for your food.
She suggested that we eat sushi before the meal so that we would not not be overly hungry this was a fantastic suggestion. My sushi was fantastic my wife did not like her sushi and Solvia replaced it immediately with something she would like. We waited on additional hour and a 1/2 to be served our food. I ordered the triple fin and my wife ordered the scallops. The scallops were off the chain they were fantastic perfectly cooked on a bed of Jasmine rice with a side of spinach. Although the spinach seemed to be be flavorless and limpy vegetable with no texture I suppose that would be expected Is for steamed spinach. Again my wife's meal was very very tasty. Previous to my meal being delivered Solvia came to the table and told me they were missing the thing the specific toppings that came with the triple fin. They said they would substitute with crab meat at this point an hour and a 1/2 later I was very hungry it was getting late it was now 3 hours into the meal experience I accepted whatever she had because I wanted to get some food. When the fish came there was cold crab meat on top of my fish which was cooked to the chef's suggestion of being blackened. On top of a bed of Slovenia type Cabbage. I was very disappointed with the fish had very little flavor and the blackening acting along with the long wait for the fish to come out or sitting under a light bulb for a time had dried it out completely. It did not help that the Topping was missing that was promised when ordered and replaced with crab meat. I have had blackened Tilapia at the flying fish in Little Rock Arkansas this blackened fish absolutely was not dry and was popping with flavor. This fish i tried to eat tonightwas the exact opposite of popping with flavor, I had to take a drink of water with every bite of the fish that I took. Sulvia saved the night with her heart and lively sweet attitude. I would read other reviews and stay with their suggestions Google will not let me...
Read moreWe were a group of 3 that were seated quickly, probably because we arrived @4pm. We mentioned to our server, Ellen, that we were celebrating an 81st birthday of a veteran. No response. Not "happy birthday " , "thank you for your service " nothing at all. Her response was "what can I get you to drink?" Ok, OK, she's not very personable but she's doing her job. We ordered a few cocktails and a non alcoholic beer ( for the birthday veteran, that can't have alcohol bc of medicine). The kir royal is made with cheap blueberry syrup and Andre champagne. Very very sweet and not good at all. A true kir royal is made with Chambord raspberry liquor and quality champagne. We tried a different cocktail that was better . I am allergic to shellfish and told the server, she said ok. Two members of our group ordered crab cakes and the ginger shrimp. They said it was good, not amazing, just good. For the price I would expect better than "good ". They also ordered the cat 5 hurricane and were disappointed with the lack of lobster and shrimp in the dish, plenty of clams smothered in red sauce and a heafty portion of rice bur certainly not worth 78$. I had the scallops they were ok, nothing special. Apart from food and service, restaurants can also receive low ratings for other things. Chipped dishes that are used to serve a 78$ plate of food and $40 for scallops is unacceptable. I've seen responses from the owner stating he has 2 people plating food. These dishes make it past the dishwasher, the cook, the people who plate and the server. What else makes it by all those people?? The ladies room door was just beyond a pile of nasty high chairs that looked as if they still had not been wiped off . The ladies room itself was beyond disgusting. This was not just from patrons being messy (remember we arrived at 4pm) it had not been cleaned properly in quite some time with black rings in the toilet and a toilet seat about to come off. If these things, chipped dishes, dirty bathrooms and just OK food for top price are your thing then this is the place for you. I also want to mention that as I was leaving, I asked who owns the restaurant. The response from the hostess was Vlad. I asked his last name and she said " I don't know, just Vlad." If I was inquiring about the owner and he takes such pride in his restaurant and also makes a big deal about handling issues face to face, why didn't she say.. He's here, I can get him for you?? I see he also prides himself on serving 600 people a night. If you can't serve the food in proper dishes and clean the bathrooms then maybe they should serve less and give the guests a better experience. I'm local and understand busy season and such so please don't use that as an excuse. There are many other better options in the area that have great food and know how to make guests feel welcome. A 3$ non alcoholic beer for an 81 year old veteran would have been nice but customer service is not in the vocabulary of this...
Read moreWalking in, it was gorgeous. nice decorations, friendly people. the hostess was pretty nice, besides giving my mom a nasty look at one point. the male who seated us on the other hand, had NO CLUE where he was going!!! we went from one table, to another, then finally to ours! 3 times to seat us? that’s a little extra. moving on to getting served, the waitress i had was extremely quiet, didn’t listen, and was pretty rude. i had to repeat myself (along with others) multiple time becuase she wasn’t listening to us. to top it off, she constantly had a rude look on her face, especially towards my friend. and you serve CRACKERS for us to eat while waiting for our meals? isn’t that so CHEAP for a restaurant that is so expensive? moving on to what i ordered, the fettuccine alfredo tasted pretty decent, until i began to eat the chicken i got with it. the chicken was dry, and for it being blacked, it totally flavorless. the ‘garlic bread’ i got with it was literally BURNT!!! all i could taste was burnt bread! you guys are extremely over priced for such low quality service, and pretty low quality foods. also, to the owner: you are a very steep and petty man to come and bash on people who are giving honest reviews on your restaurant! learn to take criticism! you are extremely rude, and do not deserve to even own a business! you know others who want to come here will look at the highest and LOWEST reviews to see what’s up! and the first thing i see is a post of you yelling at someone because their review was something you didn’t like! YOU are the main reason i will never step a foot inside your establishment! i work with people every day at my job, and if i was ever rude to a customer as you are, my boss would fire me on spot! but since you’re your own boss, you don’t see an issue with being a steep and rude asshole to anyone who has something bad to say. i will never come back here due to this low life manager, but also because of his horrible staff. i see where they get the idea of being rude to the people you serve. should’ve went to doc’s instead and waited the 2 hours there over going to your restaurant! maybe if you reacted nicely on here and actually taken into consideration what we say, people wouldn’t leave such horrible reviews. horrible place ran by a horrible man. instead of arguing how about you offer us better service next time with better food! not make us all never come back because you’re being a douche and a...
