Let me say this being almost 6 month pregnant never have I ever witnessed anyone call a pregnant women fat or had it directly said to me. I thought people had some common sense. I was professional about it when I should of told the owner off but I’ll never let anyone get me out of my character even though my hormones wanted to go off. I started getting swollen which hello I’m pregnant it’s bound to happen. I was able to get my wedding ring on and off but I kept it on one night and woke up to my hands being super swollen, was I able to predict that? Umm, no!! Mind you it’s my first pregnancy and nobody told me to not wear jewelry while pregnant. I was in pain and very emotional that my ring was going to have to get cut off. My husband picked this place so we ended up showing up. He first looked at my finger and was like yeah, once it comes off don’t put anything on your finger until after the the baby and you lose the weight you want to lose. I looked at my husband like did he really say that? I took a deep breath and let it go. He proceeded to cut my ring and talked about how other people coming in with their rings being stuck and how people say they would lose the weight and don’t and blah blah. My leg started shaking because I was ready to put him in his place but I said I’m swollen not because I’m over weight, it’s because IM PREGNANT! After he got my ring off I told my husband I’m going in my car because I can’t stand to listen or look at this human anymore. Will I ever come back? No! I could of came back to get my ring fixed and even add more diamonds to it but he just lost a future customer. My husband and I own a business and I will for sure not suggest this place EVER to anyone. To the owner: Learn when to just hush do your job and keep it professional. You talk so much and end up putting your foot in your mouth. You could of just said okay, I can fix this no worry’s and just fix it. That’s it! Nothing else! Especially when it’s a pregnant women. Do you not have kids? Your wife never been...

I was excited to design my fiancée’s dream engagement ring, but the process with Lab Grown Diamonds and our jeweler, Jim, was unfortunately very disappointing. My fiancée wanted gemstones (a birthstone) on the sides of her ring, but Jim strongly disagreed, saying that gemstones “can’t take the heat” and insisted on diamonds instead. We reluctantly went with his suggestion, but it didn’t stop there.
We specifically requested a 6-prong setting, and Jim assured us it would be fine. However, a few weeks later, he called to say that the setting we chose only came in 4 prongs, and a 6-prong version would cost an additional $200-$300. After hearing about the extra cost, we were left feeling extremely frustrated.
Following the advice of family, we decided to back out, get our deposit back, and explore other options. What do you know? The very next jeweler was happy to incorporate gemstones and work with our vision without any pushback. I was surprised and disappointed that something Jim made sound impossible was easily done elsewhere.
To Jim’s credit, he refunded us without any issue, but the entire experience was stressful and full of unnecessary disagreements. Ring shopping is supposed to be fun, but instead, it became a source of anxiety. While Jim is clearly knowledgeable and talented, he’s not a people person and seemed more focused on pushing his own ideas rather than listening to what we wanted.
I wouldn’t recommend Lab Grown Diamonds for an engagement ring, especially if you’re looking for a jeweler who is willing to work with your preferences. This process took much longer than it should have, and I left feeling...
Read moreThe 1st time I met Jim was to have an engagement ring made. He did an excellent job and even let my stepson & husband watch him set our diamond in a bezel setting while they waited (after it got in). When it came time for a wedding ring, I came to him with a picture of what I liked. He said for what it would cost for him to make it, I was better off just getting the one I liked, but he would be happy to meld the two rings together when the time came - no charge. I came back recently to have a necklace modified as an anniversary present & made into two (again using our diamonds). He did one while were there and had the setting ordered, stone set & ready within a week for the other one. I recently lost a small diamond out of the wedding ring that I had ordered (not from him). I went in & he repaired & replaced it while we waited. Everytime I've been in he offers to clean my ring for free. I had worked in a gallery in Avondale next door to a jeweler for twenty years. I had become good friends with the guy (oddly also named Jim). I never thought I'd ever find another guy as honest, fair and knowledgeable as him. I was wrong. I'll be a client for life....
