Elegant Nails — Local services in Orange

Today was by far thee worse nail salon experience I've had in all of my 26 years. My sister and I went to get her nails done and for starters they lie lie lie about the prices! He tried to charge my sister additional money just for cutting her nails lower mind you it was a brand new set, he had to cut it anyway! Next though she repeatedly told the man she wanted acrylic he tried to give her crystal powder (after she changed her mind about getting gel polish because even that was excessively priced) he then proceeded to get into a verbal debate with my sister 👎😒 still i said nothing and she kindly asked him to stop speaking because she still wanted her nails done and did not want to argue. He put her nails on and then sent her to the lady next to him to paint her nails. I kindly asked her where the restroom was, she turned to the man (presumed owner) and told him (while i stood there) that i wanted to know where the bathroom was 😒 HE then said the wooden door I said thank you and as I walked away I heard laughing but didnt think anything of it at first. i used the restroom and on my way out did not close it behind me. My sister was drying her nails..but i could tell she was pissed off ..she proceeds to tell me the lady doing her nails and said owner talked about me in front or her as soon as I left. Laughed about how I was not a paying customer and my sister didnt want to pay extra money and i had the nerve to ask for the bathroom 😡😡😡😡 and i lose it. I ask the lady if there is something she wants to say to me and as I am addressing their poor customer service skills ..presumed female owner says to me GO CLOSE THE BATHROOM DOOR 😡😡😡 I WENT BALLISTIC ..after that no1 said a word however the female owner eyed my sister and I every move until we were physically out of the door. If you read this far please alert others...this was a terribly exhausting experience...and the outcome wasnt even worth it...

Unfortunately I will never return to the place again. I will go here ever month to either do my eye brows or nails. The lady in there that does my brows is normally nice. The guy which I believe is the owner is very rude and has no customer service at all. I was told to get out the chair because he could see I was a “problem”. He started of my service by asking what color I was thinking of doing . They didn’t have the color or powder color of choice. I told him to allow me to think of a color since the one I originally wanted wasn’t available. As he continue to glue my nails down I began to feel he was hesitant. He glue down one nail then ask me again what color I wanted after I told him to allow me to think about it. I told him start off by doing my full set and I would decide on the color after . He than told me the price was $45 as if I didn’t already now that. At this point I began to feel like I was being labeled and stereotype as if I wasn’t going to pay the price. He told me he could see I was a “problem” . If I’m spending my money and is not sure on what color I want because The first two colors wasn’t available am I not allowed time to decide on a color while you put on my set. He told me to get out the store and refused service. I never write reviews so this obviously bothers me especially because I still can’t understand what “problem” I’m causing . They want to come in our community but treat us like we...

I wish I can give less stars ....I went to the nail salon at 183 Main Street in Orange Nj where I take myself and my daughter to get our nails and feet done every 2 weeks or so. Today my girlfriend her 2 children my father InLaw walked into the salon and I told the guy what I want as I do every time the lady who sits where I come in is always very pleasant. I work very hard for what little pay I make and I like to feel good sometimes. Today I was turned away and told that I was fat and big and I could not get my nails and my feet done because he did not want his chairs broken. Side bar I have lost 6lb since the last time I was there. Then he motions with his hands and says big . At this point I’m fighting back my tears. He then looks up at me and says Understand No I hang my head and go outside because my family is still inside and are being serviced. I go get into my car and my girlfriend comes out ask me why I was crying. I explain to her what has just happened and 8+ ladies walk out of the nail salon as she goes to confront them . It is never ok to body shame anyone we all were made differently no one is exactly alike at all I’m hurt 😢 but it’s cool they refuse to service me so it might not be much but you just lost 10 customers and you will be felt with...
