I don't know if it was because it was the end of the day but these people were all the way off. I'm had my purchase rung up. I look in my bag and see that my daughter's hot dog sandwich is missing. I go back up to the counter and the young lady with glasses inquires about my order. I said I am missing my daughter's hot dog sandwich. I didn't even say it in a nasty way. She goes and asks the gentleman on the line about my hot dog. An older gentleman tells me there are no hot dogs and maybe it was not even prepared. I say that it was impossible because I let the gentleman who took my order know what I wanted upon entrance into the shop and was then asked by another guy what I wanted on it. He asks who, so I point him out. The guy says it was already put on the counter for pick up. I was only charged for my other sandwich, drinks and cake. He looks over on the counter and says that this is my sandwich and both of my sandwiches were together. I pointed to the spot where the lady (short black hair and dark skinned), who rung up my first order, got my sandwich from the counter. The gentleman who took my order also asked me to calm down. I let him know there was no need for me to calm down because I wasn't upset I was just answering their questions. So he says ok and exchanges a few words with my daughter and then another lady (light skin and tall) asks what I was buying so I said the hot dog. She then says oh that's why you haven't been rung up yet, because the hot dog is 4.95 and the minimum to use my card was $5. I said then I'll take a piece of the chocolate on chocolate cake. She then proceeds to tell me that that is what the other girl (the young lady in the glasses) was telling me. I didn't say anything but all I could think about is 1) this lady wasn't even next to the girl when she asked what I was getting rung up from the very beginning. 2) The young lady hadn't said one word about the minimum fee. I say all this to say they all need to work on their communication skills because they thought I was complaining when all I was doing was answering everyone's questions. And they were taking so long to figure out where the hot dog was on the counter. Obviously the young girl had no idea that the acronym "IHD", written on the paper that the hot dog was wrapped in, stood for Italian Hot Dog because if she did she could've just said oh here it is from the very beginning. Bunch of dunces I tell you. My daughter enjoyed her hot dog and I enjoyed my sandwich. But the service...
Read moreIm not a Nj native so maybe my taste buds are way different but I saw so many videos and reviews about this place and how good their sandwiches are so after 5yrs in Nj i finally decided to try them out and i was expecting so much more because of all the reviews and videos i have seen on this place. So i have a very simple sandwich a half sandwich of hot Pastrami, swiss chess with mayo and grilled onions. The half hero bread was wonderful and a great size, they also give you plenty of meat i don't know how anyone would be able to eat a full sized one but im sure some people have. The sandwich was nice and hot i got it home and started to eat and didn't taste anything no cheese, no mayo, the pastrami did have much of a taste and the grilled onions didn't taste like anything. I don't know how the meat didnt have much of a flavor but it didn't.. So this place is a no go for my. The cakes that they have look good but they arent labeled and the flavor arent even on the menu and i didnt feel like asking because it hard to hear one another through the plastic they have up and i had a mask on. Im sorry unlimited but i will continue to rock with my sandwiches from Farmers in a deli in Brooklyn but i may come back and try the salads, wings, fries and...
Read moreSo last week I came back home to Orange to visit my family. Of course I had to visit Sandwiches! I placed my order a whole ICB K/S/P. The gentleman recites the order to the cook. I then proceeded to go to the pay area and waited for my order. I stood with my drinks as I watched other customers who came after place their order and leave with theirs. At this point, I was standing for at least 15 minutes, and a staff member asked me what I ordered. I told her a whole ICB KSP. She then tells the cook(I think his name was Andre or Dre) again the order. Another 10 minutes passed, and other customers came in that ordered after me with multiple items was getting their orders and leaving. I was still there. Another staff member asks me my order. I told him. He then asks did I go to the area where orders are placed. I said, "Yes" and told him that the cook has been made aware plenty of times. As an Orange NJ native I've been going to Sandwiches for years when they were at the original and new location. Not as often now since I moved out of state. However, the fact I waited over 30 minutes for my 1 ICB order made me feel as this was done intentionally since the cook was aware. I don't understand why. Hopefully, the next visit will be a...
