Extra Space Storage — Local services in Orange

One of the employees is rude but the other was super nice. I dislike that there are no lights inside the actual storage unit. It was explained to me its because there are sprinkler system in the units but with technology these days a solar light, LED light or battery operated light could have been installed. It would have been nice when I went to see the space that I have to bring a padlock. I had to go and come back with a lock or dish out $20-$25 for one of there's. If you rent an apt and there is a rodent problem the owner is responsible to take care of it but if there is a rodent problem at the storage space they are not responsible according to their contract, something I disagree with. Overall I would recommend this place. It would be nice if they had camera's inside the housings where the units are.

Update Oct 2024: Back again this time i got a 5x4 unit. Staff was very helpful in cutting off the locks on my items as the keys were lost. 5 stars for that. The unit I rented was filthy. The unit had rat/mice poop all over and there was no lock in the unit after the online setup said there would be, which was very concerning because I was forced to pay for it online - no option to remove it, it says to return it to the office unopened. I went to the office and spoke with Jessica. She was friendly and did her best to help me. She had my lock in the office and after I told her I did not need it because I have my own locks and to refund me for it per the online statement, she was saying she could not, I told her what it says online to return it to the office and it doesn’t allow you to remove it. She kept the lock and said she was sending an email to a manager to refund it. About the filthy unit, she went to clean it and disinfect it herself, much appreciated effort but could have done a better job. Also, down the hall from my unit near a trap was 2 dead mice. The place seems okay. The woman who works there tho seemed more interested in getting home than in assisting us with questions we had. She made sure to let us know that she was tracking the time and that she was almost at the end of her shift. The man who worked there was the helpful one. He reopened the gate for me so I could get back in.

We were quick about unloading our stuff because it really was t much but we had to store some things for a bit. We got there 1/2 before they closed and it seemed to shake them that we had come so late but we got there when we could. And when we finally got stuff sorted, it took us 15 minutes to unload the stuff. The rest of time was really taken up by trying to get help for some questions we had and the woman was so unhelpful.
