Sunsplash Caribbean Bakery, Takeout & Juice bar — Restaurant in Orange

I went to this site today. Sent my daughter inside to get 3 curry chicken Pattie’s. The lady cashier with the green and blonde hair did not give my 11 year old the proper change. She told the child they don’t have change. I got out the card and told the lady that I have 50 cents and that she can give me a dollar because she did not have change. A nice gentleman came over. I explained the situation to him. The lady was standing there and not giving me my dollar so I told her you could give me my 20 dollars back and keep the food. Once I asked for my money back the lady with the green and blonde hair became very disrespectful and rude. She start yelling telling me that I was disrespectful and I told her that she should stop beating kids for change and that she could have asked the child where is your mother? Or who sent you to the store because we don’t have change. Also when I came in the store and gave her the 50 cents she should have just gave me the dollar. I was not disrespect or rude to her. I was talking to the guy and she keep mouthing off until she had to be taken into the back room in order for her to shut up . She must of had a guilty conscience. She has POOR CUSTOMER SKILLS. She needs to be written up and retrained. I will never eat out of...

The only reason I’m giving a star is because of the Guava Mama smoothie , however I am extremely disappointed. I have been eating from here since 2013 so I am aware of the quality and am a well known advocate for this restaurant. Today I ordered two meals , a curry chicken with rice and peas and cabbage and oxtail with callaloo rice ,pumpkin stew and one dumpling. My boyfriend had the curry chicken and he said it was very bland and not spicy to him. I tasted it as well and even though it was slightly spicy it did not have any other flavor besides the curry. It was not tasty Or inviting for another spoonful. Now my oxtail OMG!!!!!! I could cry, it’s so bland I never would’ve guessed it was from Sunsplash. My heart was set on the mild sweet and spicy authentic taste but what I got wasn’t even desirable. It turned me off completely from the first bite. The pumpkin stew was not savory and sweet and garlicky as I had sampled before. And the boiled dumpling seemed to be old even though I was there at 1:15( lunch time) it was mushy as if it sat in the water overnight. I spent $50 and I could’ve went to somewhere else for better taste had I known. Truly deserve compensation for this...

UPDATE!!! So the co owner addressed my complaint. Not only did he apologize for the previous dish, but also gave me another meal and another experience! Thank you Sunsplash. You truly care about customer satisfaction and your brand.

OLD REVIEW_ only gave up to 2 stars bc the chicken and beef patties are delish, otherwise it would be a 1. My father bought me a lunch dish w/some kind of bbq fried chicken. Yuck! The chicken was inedible (soggy outside [i did open right in fron the restaurant upon receipt] tough meat,bony, and overfried) The rice and peas had 3 butter beans from brown gravy (oxtail flavor (did someone use the a spoon that had already been used in meat, in rice?) (no brown gravy was present), and the cabbage was very crunchy and bland. I did not enjoy nor did I finish eating the dish. I called them to ask if I could send a pic or come in tomorrow bc I was unable to come back due that day. I was told that I cannot come back the next day. Well, $ in the trash...
