We traveled from Ohio to Tinley Park for a concert and were really excited to get commemorative tattoos while we were in town, sort of spur of the moment. We chose this shop based on its strong online presence and glowing reviews, and genuinely thought it would be a memorable experience. Unfortunately, what we got was deeply disappointing…. And the response (or complete lack thereof by the owner just added salt to the wound)
There were so many red flags from the get go and I should have listened to my gut and walked out. Would have saved both me and friend from botched tattoos and even more money to cover them up. The artist we worked with (Luis) showed a clear lack of care and attention throughout the entire experience. He was on his phone for much of the session, didn’t walk us through placement or design unless we specifically asked, and seemed totally unconcerned about the fact that he was placing these pieces on our bodies forever… There was no attention to detail or effort to ensure we felt confident and happy with our designs and placement — and the final results reflect that.
Both tattoos have misplaced or overreaching lines that don’t match the intended designs, and also have visible blowouts of ink— issues that honestly feel like rookie mistakes. Both tattoos are basic shapes, circles, squares, X,s and rectangles, and not a single shape in either of our tattoos are correctly drawn. These aren’t minor flaws; they’re technical errors that show a lack of care, professionalism, or maybe experience?
The worst part is the tattoo I received: a simple square outline that is visibly and significantly crooked. The stencil didn’t transfer properly, and instead of fixing or reapplying it, the artist just decided to freehanded the corners. The result is a rushed, uneven tattoo that I now have to live with forever…(but am paying to have covered up because it’s so embarrassingly bad)
We reached out to the owner privately and respectfully in hopes of addressing all of this without needing to go blast them online. We had no intention of posting a negative review — we simply wanted to have a conversation and make him aware how this person was representing his business, But after being completely ghosted, we feel it’s only right to share our experience so that others can make an informed decision…. A lack of response sends a message of not caring, and that’s the hardest part to accept.
Writing this review is not something we wanted to do. We hate speaking negatively about a tattoo shop — especially one we were genuinely excited to visit — but we wish someone had written a review like this before we booked. Now I’m about to spend another $400 to cover up a $150 tattoo that never should’ve gone this way or been this expensive.
Please see all the photos as proof… hopefully we can prevent someone else from getting a botched tattoo and save them some trouble. Had we seen a review like this would have never stepped foot...
Read moreI can only say great things about Regal Tattoo Gallery. When you walk in, the vibe is professional and creative, exactly what you want when trusting someone to put permanent art on your body. The shop itself is spotless, stylish, and run with real professionalism. Drew recently did two incredible pieces for me: a gothic Pisces chick and a dreamcatcher/skull mashup.
The gothic Pisces girl is incredible. The detail in her hair, the expression in her eyes, the Pisces sign on the forehead, and the way Drew captured that moody vibe — it’s amazing. I get compliments on her all the time, and people always ask who did the work.
The dreamcatcher/skull piece — an idea I had in my head for a long time but wasn’t quite sure how to pull off. Drew absolutely nailed it. The delicate dreamcatcher with the raw intensity of the skull is a perfect balance.
Drew really takes time to listen and tweak until everything feels just right. He’s also got a steady hand and focused energy that made my 12 hour and 9 hour session way more bearable.
I’m beyond happy with both pieces and already planning my next one. Five stars,...
Read moreI recently completed my full arm sleeve with Regal Tattoo, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. From start to finish, the entire experience was smooth, professional, and beyond expectations.
A huge shoutout to Drew, who was my artist throughout the process. His attention to detail, creativity, and steady hand brought my vision to life in a way I never imagined. Every session was comfortable, and Drew made sure I was happy with each part before moving forward. You can tell he genuinely cares about the work he does.
The shop itself is clean, welcoming, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. If you’re thinking about getting serious ink done—especially something as big as a sleeve—I highly recommend this place. You won’t regret it.
Thanks again to Drew and the whole team for an...
