Decided to stop by for lunch during a trip to Daytona Beach. We were actually undecided on a place to eat and visited the Antique Mall, Dunn's Antiques, next door and smelled the food. It was just after their lunch rush and we were greeted upon entry. We were sat in a corner table, which had a wobble to it. The server, Chris, was very cordial and accommodating. He took our drink order and we needed a little extra time with the food choices, as they do not have BBQ on their ribs and I cannot eat it with sauce smeared over it and not cooked in. My soft drink tasted like dish soap and her sweet tea was over sweetened. My wife settled on the brisket combo and I had the half-baked chicken combo. When ordering we were informed there was an upcharge due to "a market price change" of $2.00 for each entree. Either way, we agreed. The food came out very fast, which would normally be a good thing; however, nothing we ordered came out hot, but rather lukewarm. She received two slices of brisket that needed a lot of BBQ sauce to be edible with a cold dried out sweet potato and baked beans. She stated the beans were the best part of the meal. My chicken was adequate, but the crust was more soggy than crispy and both the coleslaw and loaded baked potato were lacking with the coleslaw being dried out with very little mayonnaise and the baked potato being so cold as to not melt the cheese after 25 minutes, so I requested the mac-n-cheese and a replacement potato, which Chris gladly brought. The Mac-n-cheese was a little better, but not by much and the potato had melted cheese this time. All and all I would have to say the best part of the meal was the 15% military discount. If I had to recommend a place to eat, it would have to be the cafe attached to Dunn's Antiques next door, as they have good reviews.

For the last several months we have wanted to stop in to try this place and this past weekend we finally did. We were not disappointed!! As we approached the door, we were met by one of the employees, who held the door open and greeted us with a smile and a hello. We had never been there before so we didn’t know exactly what to expect but right away the process became obvious and easy. The decor is cute and the theme wasn’t overdone. I presume the manager or owner was the nice gentleman at the register taking our order. If he’s not, then he should be. Super personable, which added to our first impression. Our food came out relatively quickly, and the staff checked on us appropriately to see if we needed anything throughout our stay. Not the intrusive kind of checking on us either. The presumed manager//owner even came by again to joke with us about how I ordered the vegetables but had my boyfriend get the cobbler so I could “try” some. We both got the sliders. The pork sliders were tender and tasty, and not overpowered with sauce, meaning you could actually taste the food and add sauce as you desired. The brisket sliders were absolutely amazing with the right combo of tender, tasty and terrific. I had to remove the slider bun and just eat the brisket toward the end because 2 sliders were more than enough for me. The green beans were good. A little more than expected but not as good as the cobbler I managed to “try” a few times. I have to say the cobbler as a side with barbecue is an unexpectedly great combo. Anyway, we were again surprised at the customer service even when we were getting ready to leave and leaving. Every member of the staff spoke to us and all seemed to enjoy working there. We would totally recommend you try Pumphouse BBQif you haven’t already.

Wow, where to begin. I honestly hate giving only 2 stars to anybody. But, I also don't appreciate feeling frustrated either.

The reasons I gave 2 stars: Upon calling prior to coming in the two different people I spoke to were nice...Yay for that!!!

Good Mac n cheese and delicious fries

The Fat Stack was good

Cute establishment

The reasons it wasn't 5 stars:

Pulled chicken was dry, tasteless, and cold when served.

Not only were we upcharged a $1.50 per loaded baked potato (which it doesn't state anywhere on the menu that there would be this up charge) but they also came out cold. Once I realized there was this charge, I questioned the gentleman who took our order. He stated it was because of the sour cream and bacon bits. What?!?!? The fact is, it was only .26 difference from any other side and again no mention anywhere there would be an upcharge. So, if you are going to do an upcharge #1 state it on the menu or #2 inform the customers when they are ordering that you are going to charge them an additional $1.50. And, please come up with a better reason then the one I was given.

I would also like to add, Any good customer service would have honestly refunded me that $3. due to their negligence. So that does not bode well with me for quality customer service.

If that wasn't bad enough two family members ordered the sandwich combo for $9.99 and wanted to add a side for $2.99. Again the gentleman behind the counter suggested we do the entree with two sides and add a drink. He said, we would save money. NOT!!! So, my suggestion would be the employees need to know their pricing before making any suggestions. Now at the time I didn't actually know how much the entree with two sides were until later when I was looking at my receipt. The entree with two sides is $12.99 and to add a drink was $2.50. You do the math and tell me did I save money. No! I did not.

So, now this eating establishment took: ($5.00 for wrong suggestion) plus the $1.50 per baked potato ($3.00 where there was no mention of this upcharge on menu) and the tip that we left to buss our own tables etc. UNBELIEVABLE!!!

All I wanted was to celebrate my 82 year old mother with a nice time and a delicious meal. Yet, all I am is just $96 poorer and frustrated with the evening. Sorry the review couldn't have...

Went there today for a birthday lunch because I was craving some good bbq. It was overly crowded so we asked for it to go. On their menu it says a list of meat then “sandwich, entree or dinner” in which there is no difference between the sandwich or entree. They both give you two sides so I assumed you’d get two sides like fries and Mac n cheese. No, a drink is considered a side so realistically you get one side and a drink unless you want two actual sides and add a drink for extra money. We sat outside while we waited for our food and noticed the guy who was cutting the brisket walk in and out of the building with the same gloves on. I went back in to refill my drink and there was grease all over the handle. I hope to god that he changed his gloves before touching anymore food. While waiting I ended up going back in to get fries because originally I wanted two sides, not one side and a drink. I ended up getting fries and their pasta salad. We got home with the pulled pork sandwich, and the grilled c’s.. both sandwiches were extremely dry, I felt like I was chewing forever. It reminded me of my mothers over cooked pork tenderloins. I have no clue what the name of the sauces I got were because the sharpie they used has rubbed off. The “sweet” sauce tasted like a sweeter version of a1 sauce. The yellow sauce looked like it would be good but it tasted like watered down honey mustard with a strong taste of yellow mustard. The orange-ish sauce tasted like an overly spiced version of the blooming onion sauce from outback. The Mac n cheese wasn’t all that great, baked beans looked decent but was absolutely horrible and I’m 90% sure they used the wrong beans. Pretty sure they were kidney beans. The pasta salad was waaayyy overly spiced I literally ate one noodle and tossed the rest. I definitely believe they’re asking too much money for the quality of food they’re trying to sell. Also, if you plan on eating outside, make sure to bring bug spray because they are everywhere out there!

I think the nicest thing I can say is the fries were good- even though they’re the fries a lot of restaurants around here uses. It also smells really good when you walk through the doors..(even though you can’t taste the smoke...
