ALDI — Local services in Ottumwa

If you know about how good Aldi's is then I don't know why you're looking at this review. Perhaps you're wondering if this particular Aldi's is good? Well yes, it is. You can move on now, if for some reason you've never been to an aldis and need convincing then here's the easiest way to do it: your grocery bill is going to be a lot cheaper going here than pretty much anywhere else in the quality won't suffer either.

Yes they do things like some European countries where you need a quarter for the cart (which you get back if you return the cart), and they don't do plastic bags so you have to buy reusable bags there or bring your own. It's not because all these is cheap it's because they care about making proper changes... Okay maybe they are a little bit cheap in that regard but infinite plastic bags for shopping being thrown into the environment...

Last night at 730 I was waiting in line to check out. The line was very long but only one register was open. I waited in line for 15 minutes. When it was my turn to check out the lady ignored my reusable bags and started throwing my items in a cart. I asked her to hand me the bags so I could bag my items and she threw them in the cart. After paying for the items, I was trying to grab my bags out of the cart and she started throwing the next persons items in the cart. I asked her to stop for a moment to let me take my bags out of the way and she ignored me. While I appreciate the speed that she was trying to use- I do not appreciate the service. I've been shopping at ALDI's in Ottumwa for decades. It was always one of the best ALDI stores around. I don't know if this place has changed Managers in the last few years, But this place is going downhill bad! They are out of stock all the time, basic stuff nothing unique just everyday staples. I haven't seen more than one cashier in at least a year. I've also noticed that Amish store owners are buying goods in bulk to stock their small grocery stores, which is totally fine if the Manager would order extra to keep the store stocked for everyone else.
