I would NEVER EVER recommend this store to anyone!!!!! just a thought. . Is it ok to call the POLICE on your customers when they purchased A VERY EXPENSIVE piece of furniture??? Here's what I mean by that.. I will try to be short but this is an unbelievable story. My boyfriend and I bought a sectional couch and my boyfriend paid half when he ordered it. Almost a month later it arrived at the store (since it was a special order). The store called and set up a delivery date but we did change it bc we were not ready. We wanted it a couple of days later. Anyway, the couch got delivered & all was good (so we thought... but) 24 hours after the delivery the phone calls came in saying we needed to pay the balance (YES, WE ALREADY KNEW THAT) They spoke with my boyfriend the next day (Saturday) and told him that it needed to be paid. He was very nice and told them we were in Burlington at my daughter's softball tournament and that we could come in on Monday (memorial day) and pay. She said that was unacceptable and it needed to be paid and she will give us 1 hour. I was NOT happy with that demand, so I called them and they were very rude and said it needed to be paid. I said I know that and I will be in to pay on Monday. She got snotty with me about different things, even downgraded me about qualifying for financing. We argued back and forth and she finally would not accept the fact that I would come in and pay 2 days later that she said. .. I AM GOING TO CALL THE POLICE and hung up on me. My blood was boiling!!!!! To make this shorter..... when I went in on Monday to pay the balance they told me that the policy was to pay the balance or have financing before the furniture is delivered... ok.. NO ONE EVER ASKED FOR THE BALANCE before THEY delivered it!!! It was McGregor's fault, not mine and they were just trying to cover their butts by getting the balanced paid before corporate found out that they made a delivery without it being completely paid for. I could keep going and going on this story but this is the main reason I will NEVER enter that store again. I dealt with Glenda & Cheryl in the Ottumwa store. Read moreGood and bad. Selection was good, salesman (Bob G?) was great. Delivery good, too. Service after the sale was AWFUL! I don't know the name of the older lady who seemed to be the manager. She didn't seem nice. We had a fairly new $600 mattress, still under warranty, completely collapse; it became flat, top and bottom touching! Flat all up and down the left side! THAT'S not supposed to happen! I guess I am 30 pounds over weight LOL but come ON! Stand behind your product. She came to the apartment, said, "Well, there are stains on the mattress. That completely voids the warranty." Untrue! That's like getting a new car, having the engine blow up and the dealer saying, "Well, there are dents on the door. That voids the engine warranty." She said "The Law" wouldn't even allow her workers to touch the mattress. Turns out that's not quite true either. No offer to assist; Not a discount on a new one, nor an apology for not being willing to help, not a recognition that this collapse was even out of the ordinary. The worst part was how RUDE this McGregor's lady's tone was. I kept my mouth shut for 18 months after I left my former employer so they couldn't be blamed for my review. Read moreWe purchased an adjustable bed for my elderly father about two months ago so he could adjust the angle of his sleep. My sister, brother and I were trying to make some changes with the recent passing of his wife our mother. The mattress we ordered was a Double XL, but a regular was delivered after about 3 weeks, and did not fit the adjustable mechanism. We asked for it to be made right and we had to wait a total of 6 weeks. After delivery it was determined that the Adjustable mechanism was faulty and not working right. McGregors will not help to solve the problems or replace it. They are only sending us to a manufacturer to get it figured out. What should have happened is McGregors should have been all over the Manufacturer for us and handled it in-house. Really poor service after they got our money. Buyer BEWARE and this 20 year VET...
