As I was entering the store, an employee was berating a customer who was having issues with a game console. Whether or not, the issue was legitimate or not, the employee should not have been using an elevated tone and VERY sarcastic language in front of the other customers. This employee was some kid who had his hair piled up on top of his head, in a bag of some sort. He was about as unprofessional looking as he was acting. When the customer left the store, The employee was saying, so that the whole store could hear, that the customer was a "waste of his time" and that he had to "make time" for him. Interestingly though, after the customer left the store, the employee paced behind the counter and loudly complained about the "pacing" of a video game that he had been playing. He didn't do a lick of work. THEN, he and other employee began to loudly discuss religion in extremely disparaging terms. They referred to the Bible as "ironic social satire" and were loudly exclaiming that the Devil got the best bargain in his exchange with God, (among other things) These kids were lazy, unprofessional, rude, insolent and vulgar. They appeared to think that their religious "commentary" was cute because they made absolutely certain that everyone could hear them ranting about their incredibly ill-conceived views. The rest room was a PIT! It was like a frat house or something. Maybe instead of philosophizing, they should grab some Comet and scrub their nasty toilet?

Read moreThe presentation of this store is absolutely Atrocious and sloppy compared to other vintage stocks in the kc metro area not to mention the store has a treacherous stench to it. Now to the main part of my review this is the third time we have gone out of our way 35 MILES THATS RIGHT 35 MILES to come here looking at video games because they have the biggest selection out of the vintage stocks in the area that is if they actually had the games in stock that the claim they do and this is not the first time this has occurred at this location. That is the main complaint of my review how are you going to openly display something and then not have it in stock ? It’s not like someone went behind the counter and stole it. Don’t you think you’d also actually check your inventory to make sure it’s in stock before the pos ? It’s rather annoying and frustrating to have to swipe a card twice once for the purchase and then for a refund that will take 3-5 business day to appear on my account? Then when confronted about the situation you go and lie and said you told my companion not to swipe his card yet then I over hear you and him talking and you apologize for asking him to pay while You went and got the game which is obvious by this review you didn’t have in stock yet claimed to. your company’s organizational skills and inventory control shouldn’t affect me as a consumer however it has...
Read moreI've been buying at this company's stores for years, but a recent experience really soured me on them. I bought a couple used feature film DVDs at their Metcalf-Overland Park, KS location late last year which both had some type of defect; one wouldn't play at all, and on the other, certain features didn't work, even though there was no obvious damage and I cleaned them. I confirmed my equipment was also working fine. When I called the store, the clerk I reached didn't seem particularly interested; he basically informed me that, regarding the disk which wouldn't play, I might have bought a non-US DVD (which was not correct) or I should find somewhere to get it resurfaced (seriously?). I later left a comment at the store's site explaining the problems but got no reply.
I suspect these defects were caused by some part of the process that this store uses to prep or repair used disks. These two movies were not connected or together in the store, so I would guess a number of their other disks have the same issues. I didn't try to return them since I live out of town and they were under $5 each, but I expected a little more of an attempt at some assistance when I called/e-mailed, rather than just the above dismissive response. I won't be buying this company's products again in light of these defects and the absence of anything resembling customer service...
