Firstly, think that this place is best to go with people. I do not see anyone that is without accompaniment. And being that this café is more catered to socializing and games you can expect a moderate noise level. There are quieter places to work which is nice.
I came in and announced it was my first time here. I was hoping to hear a run down or introduction to the place, I didn't see any overhead menu but instead I was referred to the handheld menus. Reading them felt convoluted and overwhelming, but I'm glad they have choices but I resorted to ordering the Blueberry Strudel Waffles and I had a latte with dark chocolate and caramel. I will say when I got my latte there isn't any intercom or yelling so just be around when the coffee is ready. As for my waffles I had received a text to my phone through their system Toast which I am unfamiliar with but that is the reason they take your phone number for your order.
My latte was just fine. It tasted fine but it seems like they got the coffee out pretty quick, they may have steamed the milk abit but there was no significant frothy-textured milk foam or any design on the coffee, but it looks like they are better enjoyed cold where they serve them in glass.
My Blueberry Strudel Waffles were pretty good, but I agree that they are abit dry, but it was topped high with what it came with so the waffles were tasty but doused in sugar so I don't recommend it if you don't have a sweet tooth.
I might return here with friends but for a casual café ambiance or even just a simplified routine for studying it may be best to check the more established coffee houses and cafes around here. I find coffee to be the centerpiece of what brings people together, even if you are...
Read moreI wanted to know if a board game restaurant existed because it sounded like a cool idea. I Googled it and discovered this place. I have been gluten free for 3.5 years and have found that variety is hardly ever offered at most restaurants. It did not disappoint. They had a lot of gluten free options. Most items on the menu could be made gluten free even the pita bread! We hung out there and played Ticket to ride for the first time and tried out Oregon trail. The environment was perfect too. It wasn't so quiet that it would be awkward to talk and it wasn't so loud that you had to yell to be heard. Perfect sound balance. The menu was great. Waffles. Their "thing" is waffles. Waffles made into pizza, waffles made into tacos. Waffles topped with pulled pork for a BBQ spin. It was inventive and yet classic at the same time. The guys I brought are not the adventurous types when it comes to food so the menu scared them at first. In the end everyone ate every bite of food. Very affordable too. I even walked over to the game store attached and had some games special ordered to arrive this week. Anyway, I appreciated it. :)

Read moreWAFFLES!! WAFFLES!! WAFFLES!! Chicken & waffles! cookies & waffles! corn dogs in waffles! WITH ketchup! (Might be catsup) salad on waffles! Vegan waffles! Carnivore waffles! VEGAN CHICKEN & WAFFLES!! Part of me wants to know how this was done. The rest wants to believe there's a flock of vegetablist chickens somewhere. Pop, beer, and liquor, not on waffles! However, this place has found a better pairing for their waffles.. GAMES! GAMES! GAMES! Lots of games. Card games, board games, train games, and even Catan. They have map games and even a table covered in a 3 dimensional landscape so you can watch teenagers make airplane noises as they fly them. They have really complicated games. I assume there are easy ones. Our game picker doesn't believe in them. Which makes the relaxed no rush atmosphere VERY nice. Our waiter was awesome and didn't mind our 2 hour dinner at all. Ok, I was the waiter. They make the food, but like the games, you have to go get it. It's a reasonable trade, though. This is one of the best places in town to eat. The food is good. The menu is surprisingly diverse. The atmosphere is awesome. It's games and waffles. How is that not going to be an...
