This is by far the worst Walmart in the KC Metro area, and I've been to plenty of them. Yes, that includes the one on 40 highway close to the Sports Complex.
It's dirty, dated and crowded. This particular Walmart has been there for at least 20 years, so it's kind of small, so it seems they try to cram as much merchandise into it as possible... yet they never seem to have exactly what you're looking for, and what they do have can be unorganized and every aisle is likely to have merchandise laying on the ground. The result is a crowded store without enough room for 2 customers to easily maneuver their carts around each other.
I went there to get some winter gloves and pet food last night. Couldn't find any gloves that were under $13 (Gardner Walmart had them in an easy to find display, $7 for Faded Glory fleece gloves). So I passed on gloves there. Next up was dog food and cat food. I get to the pet section and find the dog food. We feed our dog the Purina "Moist and Meaty" packets. This Walmart only had the 12 pouch boxes for $7. Again, Gardner had the 36 pouch boxes for $13. So I passed on the dog food. At this point I was fed up and decided to just leave and go to a different store, because of 2 reasons:
The cat food is 2 aisles away from the dog food, with a cosmetics aisle in between them. Like I said: disorganized. It took me several minutes of walking up and down the pet section and not finding the cat food before I realized there was another pet section separate from this one. The time it took me to realize this was increased because of:
I don't want to be mean... but every meth head in the area must shop here. The store is mostly filled with slack-jawed, trashy looking patrons. I constantly had to move around or say "excuse me" to people standing around completely unaware of their surroundings, blocking aisles and just seeming disconnected from everyone around them. I'd say that roughly half the people in there fit this description. After the 10th time of someone just stopping in front of me with a cart and walking away from it to look at something, I left my empty cart where it was and walked out.
I probably won't bother going back. Every time I've gone there I have a similar experience.
Also, their parking lot is a complete cluster. The spaces are much like the store: too small and close together, and people drive like morons. In past trips I've gone to this store and there were half a dozen employees out front smoking and cussing loudly. I've gone through the checkout that sells tobacco products and had to step behind the counter and point to what I want because the phrase "top shelf, 8 items over from the left" couldn't be deciphered by the clerk.
All in all it's just a terrible Walmart, which should tell you a lot right there. They should have closed this one down...
Read moreMe and my husband went inside the store around 8:20 pm knowing they close at 8:30 due to the Corona however we knew exactly what we wanted and what aisle it was on because of the Walmart app,Got our item and was walking towards the register when a Rude Employee named April approached us and told us we needed to go pay that they were closed which we knew the whole time due to EMPLOYEES standing outside the doors telling people when we went in and they also did a overhead announcement and told everyone to make their final selections so WE DID and would have been alot quicker than 2 mins but the beauty aisle was a MESS. Anyways she said "We announced over head that we were closed to make your final selections and pay" My husband politely told her that's what we were doing and she said "y'all knew was closed at 8:30 period so I went up to the register and asked to speak to a manager and April came by and said "it was me". "Sure was" When I wasn't even talking to her. Basically took pride in providing terrible customer service. Anyways finally spoke to a manager and he said he would take care of it. This is pathetic. Either way whether is was 8:30 or 8:45 SHE IS STILL GETTING PAID and to make that comment "it was me" "Sure was" iand to sit there and try to argue with my husband is honestly pathetic and they really need to address their employees and their actions. Best believe I'll call corporate and every single person I know of and can every day if I have to,To assure something is done with April. She is a terrible representation of Walmart and she needs to have some consequences. Maybe she was having a bad day but listen I have lupus and have ALOT of things going on in my personal life but that gives me no excuse to go around being hateful to people and treating people awfully because I'm having a bad day. Let alone at my WORK place. If you come across a lady named April and she is disrespectful to you,Please tell the managers because we can't make a difference without letting someone know. I hope she is ashamed of herself. April if you ever do read this I want you to know I just found out some of the worse news of my life and came in the store to get some nail supplies to get my mind off of the day I had,I hope you never have to endure the pain me and my family are going through but just know,Little actions and words really do make...
Read moreMade a quick visit to my neighborhood market today and saw an awesome new product, Mountain Dew Voo Dew. I was excited to try it and saw that it was only $3.48 according to the signage. Fast forward to being at the self check out and when I scanned the Mountain Dew, it rang up for 4.98. No biggie really, just went back to double check the price, snapped a photo, and brought it to the attention of the "observer of self check outs". Now, walmart must not be like every other store when it comes to cashiers, because the customer service manager had to come override the price. I was willing to wait however odd that practice was. What I was not willing to do, was put up with the customer service manager's attitude as she dealt with the situation. This was at 19:55:02 on 8/20/2019 if any manager cares to check who the customer service manager was. First, she informed me that she would never do this again and that it was a one time thing. (Well geez, I hope you guys get your signage fixed then before I come in again later in the week.) Second, she zoomed in on my photo and saw that it said 12 pack Mountain Dew, but it was for Baja Blast. Something I saw as well when viewing the tag, but needless to say the only other tag near the product was $2.50 for a 6 pack of bottled Dr. Pepper. I told her that they should put up signage if there are different prices and she informed me that they "only put one price up" because customers move product around to try and trick the store into giving them a cheaper price. Mind you, there are a good 9 12-packs of two flavors of Mountain Dew sitting over this sign. One was the Voo Dew and one was the very delicious Liberty Dew. Neither of which were the Baja Blast. When this was pointed out to the customer service manager, she told me she KNEW the baja blast was out of stock and instead chose to fill the hole with another product which caused this whole situation. The whole time giving me an attitude about remedying the prices and doing right by the customer. While yes, it was only $1.50 difference, it is the behavior of the associate which caused this review and to let others know to bring solid proof with them if they ever try and argue the price of an item versus how it is listed...
