The objectives/learning outcomes for each part of the course were clear, precise and specific. Yes, the MACOHS catalog and enrollment documents are very clear on course objectives, policies, and student expectations. The staff follow through with what they say, and it is not “organized chaos”. You can trust the set forth expectations. It did not take me 12 weeks to notice this, but I was assured of this in my first week of attending the school.
The required tests and quizzes accurately measured my attainment of these learning outcomes. Yes, the tests and quizzes were exactly what we lectured about, and our reviews were not carbon copies of the test, so you had to actually know the information in order to pass the tests. Did not get correct answers after taking tests.
I would recommend my instructor as someone who helped me learn. Yes, Mr. Powers is very knowledgeable and funny and if he doesn’t know the answer to a medical question, he directs us elsewhere.
The courses were well-organized, logical, and consistent. Yes. I have really enjoyed this, and it has been a breath of fresh air, because this is how it is supposed to be.
The online/threaded discussions contributed to my learning. The online discussions helped me to summarize and remember course content, but no feedback from instructor on posts and responses.
6.The instructor demonstrated in-depth knowledge of the subject. Yes, Mr. Powers is very knowledgeable and funny and if he doesn’t know the answer to a medical question, he directs us elsewhere.
The instructor used various instructional methods to reach the course objectives, such as group discussions and individual presentations. Yes, as far as having a review day dedicated to the final test. We have lectures almost daily and they don’t vary much from method, but the use of the smart boards, slides, videos, and in class worksheet reviews are helpful. Group presentations are required for each module.
Would you recommend this school or course(s) to a prospective student? Yes, I absolutely would. It meets expectations and is what a school should be and run like.

As they say teachers are building blocks of the society, and as students, many teachers and educators may pass through our lives without remembrance, yet a special few will leave a lasting impression. Thank you for being one of the the special educators who will live on forever in the minds and the hearts of students whose lives you have touched. I may not have shown it but am greatful to have had such an awesome teacher like you.
You have played a pivotal role in molding my character and my career too, and now I am well equipped to go outside there and perform my duties and services to people with much confidence and skills and it's all thanks to you. Thank you for being my guide and mentor; you have shown me the path to success, and I will always remember you in my life.
You supported me through the most difficult times during my course; I used to find it really difficult to learn, but you broke down those lessons to be easily comprehendable. It is truly rare to have a teacher who is as inspiration and practical as you. I know I was having a lot of difficulty in keeping with the lessons and the assignments, but you went out of your way to help me get through it successfully. You have really built a strong foundation in my career.
Now, I do believe that you teachers are like candles lighting up our lives, and a small thank you may not cover all that you've done to us but I hope it brings a smile to your face and cheer up your heart.
So Mrs. Omare, thank you once more for facilitating such a positive learning environment. I really enjoyed this class and I promise to utilize the skills I was taught. May the wisdom and good health goes along your way.
For anyone who is interested in taking CNA courses, I whole heartedly recommend taking clases with Mid-America Nursing, for they have a wonderful staff who are equipped to the fullest to teach and guide students to...
Read moreI recently completed the CNA program at Midamerica College of Health Sciences, and my experience was less than ideal. While there were some positive aspects, there were notable challenges that I believe need improvement. The program exhibited a lack of organization, which impacted the overall learning experience. Clear communication between the professors and students was often missing, and there was often less than a 24 hour notice to a change in the schedule. All of the students were expected to just make it work. There were significant communication gaps within the program. Timely and accurate information is crucial in an educational setting, and unfortunately, this aspect was lacking, leading to confusion among students and the professors. I also encountered challenges with a couple of professors who, in my opinion, exhibited ignorance, unfriendliness, and unprofessional behavior. This affected the classroom atmosphere and hindered the learning environment. They were uneducated with about select things and, when corrected, would become irritable and argue with you in front of the whole class. Ms. Jay and professor Omare, we're very knowledgeable but often make the students feel less than which did not foster my learning experience. I also had an issue with the payment. After making a payment, I was taken out of the class twice without a phone call or notice and therefore missed the class information and assignments due. I tried to make a complaint, but I was told just to write it down on a piece of paper. As far as I know, nothing was done.
While I acknowledge that every educational institution has its strengths and weaknesses, I hope that my feedback can contribute to the ongoing improvement of the CNA program at Midamerica College of Health Sciences. I believe addressing these issues can lead to a better experience for...
