The representatives at this VFW are absolutely outstanding, and will do everything in their power to help you with your claims. They will ensure the proper forms are turned in. As long as you give them the correct evidence they need for each claim you are in good hands. If you do not know what you need, they will tell you. Don’t expect to walk in and have them do all the legwork. They will tell you what you need to do on your end and it is your responsibility to do so. Most of the negative feedback I am seeing on here is because the veterans did not have the proper documentation from the sound of it. You must have proper diagnosis, nexus letters linking it to your military service, and evidence, with either statements or physician written statements to prove your claim. I had the best experience today during my VA injury claim appointment. Kevin Powers helped schedule my appointment for medical disability claims mostly accruing from a deployment I just came back from. My appointment was accompanied by Deanna McKeller, and Casey McCaleb. These two were very professional and personable. I have never made any VA medical claims with the 10 years I have been in the Army National Guard. I was very unfamiliar with the process and those two answered all of my questions to the fullest extent. Sick and tired of the VA dragging their feet. Have had a disability claim running 6 years now still nothing and my post 9-11 education benefits are always delayed even after receiving everything they need almost a month in advance.

They I’ve medicated me to the point of 4 suicide attempts. A private doctor fixed that problem but filing a lawsuit isn’t possible can’t sue the government. So what’s the purpose of the VA system?
