O! Wing Plus — Restaurant in Overland

O! Wing Plus. I’ve been coming here for years. This is one of the MVPs of the entire STL area when it comes to chicken. I first heard about this place many years ago in the Riverfront Times and have been addicted ever since. O! Wing Plus puts other Korean fried chicken establishments like Kimchi Guys to absolute shame. That’s saying a lot because I LOVE Kimchi Guys. O! Wing is just on another level entirely. Every single sauce they have is made in-house and is absolutely tremendous. My favorites are O’s Original, Hot Momma, and Beast Mode, but the star of the show is garlic parmesan. Not only is this my favorite sauce from O! Wing, it’s the very best, most delicious, mouth watering, rendition of garlic parmesan you can find at ANY restaurant anywhere. This is king. Needless to say the chicken itself is of superb quality and cooked expertly to perfection. The first time we ever came here my cousin and I were hungry and ordered ten strips each. They warned us this was more than most people can eat but we didn’t listen. Ten strips sounded doable. Upon arrival we found out that the strips were actually breast filets tenderized to the size of our heads. Simply amazing. If you’ve never been here then stop living life in the dark and come here immediately to be brought to the light....

WE SPENT OVER TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS AT THIS PLACE WITHIN THE LAST MONTH. THE OTHER NIGHT WHEN I PLACED AN ORDER, IT WAS $45, AND THESE WINGS WERE ABSOLUTELY THE WORST OF THE WORST. THEY WERE OVER COOKED AND TASTED DISGUSTING, MY WIFE WAS SHORTED 5 WINGS. WHEN I CALLED TO GET JUST MY ORDER REPLACED NOT MY MONEY BACK, JUST SOME FOOD REPLACED. THE WOMAN WHO OWNS THE PLACE ABSOLUTEY REFUSED TO JUST REPLACE MY FOOD. I WASNT ASKING FOR MUCH CONSIDERING THAT I SPEND SO MUCH MONEY THERE ON A REGULAR BASIS. THE OWNER WAS VERY VERY RUDE AND YELLING AT ME TELLING ME THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING AT ALL SHE WAS GOING TO DO TO MAKE THIS RIGHT. SHE KEPT CUTTING ME OFF AND THE ONLY THING SHE WOULD SAY IS ALL SALES FINAL. HOW CAN YOU NOT EVEN MAKE THE ORDER CORRECT WHEN I FAITHFULLY SPEND SO MUCH MONEY WITH THEM ALL OF THE TIME. THIS WAS THE WORST CHICKEN IVE EVER EVEN LOOKED AT MUCH LESS EATEN. HAD THEY JUST FIXED THE ORDER AND MADE THE CHICKEN CORRECTLY, I WOULD OF GIVEN THEM 5 STARS. INSTEAD IM BEING FORCED TO HAVE TO GIVE THEM ONE STAR WHEN THEY DONT EVEN DESERVE A CORNER OF THE STAR. I STRONGLY URGE YOU TO NOT EVEN SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY WITH A PLACE THAT REFUSED TO EVEN JUST CORRECT A FEW...

I was very disappointed with this place. We got 3 different flavors of wings and an order of waffle fries. I'll start with the good: the BBQ wings were okay--not great, but okay. I'd give them maybe a 3 or a 3.5/5. The waffle fries were also okay. I've had far better, but they were reasonable, standard waffle fries. I'd give those maybe a 3.5/5 as well. That's unfortunately where any semblance of good eating stopped. The buffalo wings were actually straight up gross. The flavor was pretty bad and the sauce seemed to be filled with red food dye for some reason. I'm not sure what buffalo sauce they use, but I really just can't recommend the buffalo wings at all, which is a shame. Lastly, we had some parmesan garlic wings, which were extremely bland, had very little garlic, and left a chalky taste in your mouth. Given some of the other reviews on here, I have to assume that we just picked bad flavors or something, but honestly, any self-respecting wing place should be able to do at least a good buffalo wing.
