On Oct 7, 2023, my mother, sister and myself participated in the hwy 60 yard sales. We decided to pay the $40 fee for 2 parking spots and was told to just pick 2 empty spots and start setting up. Per those instructions that is exactly what we did on Saturday morning. By the time customers started pulling in, Joe, the assistant manager comes out directly to the spot beside us, looks at me and with the rudest tone states "yall need to stop knocking the ropes down, they're here for a reason." I then asked him the reason for him to say it protects the customers from getting ran over! And because the ropes were thin and tied to empty paint cans with poles coming out of them, customers continued to trip and complain about just how dumb the ropes are and how dangerous they are. After our buddy Joe had harassed umpteen times over ropes that clearly have no protective value, he also came out with a lady who claimed the spots we took were hers, however no one received reserved spots. He then told us we needed to pack our things and move now. And made it it point to directly say something to us everytime I let him know I would call the cops for a police report to press charges. Joe then heads inside and gets pink shirt "team darlene" manager. By far one of the worst managers i have ever had conversation with. Her lack of knowledge, customer service, unprofessionalism shined bright on Saturday morning. She called the yard sale customers stupid for not just assuming where the entrance for the parking lot sales were. Because I explained to her about the ropes and just how dangerous they really were. By the time all was said and done lack of intelligence manager goes inside and calls the cops. They show up to let us know that if the manager didnt want us there we had to leave. I asked on what grounds and he said because shes the manager. We left.we didn't get 40 back, we were harrassed for hours on end by Joe and everytine we still chose grace. We were trespassed which isn't an issue, never shopped there beforehand and after this was never returning. Reviews will be pouring and not only with your rate drop, your sales will as well. Not only is "word of mouth" still very powerful, but plenty of witnesses were there to bare the truth and several customers had asked what Joe and the managers issue was. We went in and took our registered dog in with us. We were putting a blanket in the cart before we put her in just for cleanliness. We do this everywhere we take her. And suddenly someone hollers at us and says, “You can’t have a dog in here! They aren’t allowed!” I told this person that my dog is registered and they asked to see the registration, still sounding rude even after being told the dog was needed. Ok. I said it’s on my phone and I started to show it. Then I thought, if they had approached us and been nice then I wouldn't have minded. Their first question should have been, “Is your dog registered?” They should have been professional and kind. Instead of rude and hateful sounding. They have no idea if a dog is registered or not and what it’s purpose is. Therefore, we left and will never be back. If they can’t treat their customers with some respect then I don’t need anything they have. I’ll spend my money somewhere else. My dog is probably cleaner than that place anyway! My husband and I love this place. We both have various hobbies that make this place a treasure trove. However, I was stopped and not allowed to bring in my purse . There is a sign when you walk in (added on handmade) that says “No large bags”. I didn’t consider my bag large, she did. This subjective viewpoint cost them a lot of business. We spend every time we visit (we live out of town, hence why the larger bag for outings). I understand there has to be concern for theft, but it is a peddlers mall. And she was smug about it. You can tell that’s all she does is wait for women to come in to yield some invisible power to gain control over someone she doesn’t know. No maam I will not leave my purse and It’s contents with you behind the counter. It is often vacated to assist other customers. And no, I will not leave it in my car or someone could break it and steal it knowing that there’s a lot of purses not in that building.. If the owners were to see this, Please reconsider your policy.
