(Waited two and a half hours to be helped) Would rate zero stars if I could. What can I say? This may be the worst run Dick's in America. After standing in the back waiting on assistance at the gun section for about 15 minutes, a nice new smiling face appeared, asking if I had been helped. I kindly said "No." and they apologized profusely, saying that they would get someone to help me right away. Fast forward to two hours later....yes....I said two "HOURS" later I was eventually helped by a manager, who did the best that she could. After having waited this long I was a bit irritated, and tired. Finally after a total of two and a half hours I was out of the store with my purchase. Now the week after, I am bombarded with calls from an unfamiliar number with no messages left, which I eventually answer. It was the manager, who helped me, she informed me that I had missed a part in a form that I had to fill out. "My bad." I told her that it was no problem and I'd be up at the store by the end of the week to fix the error. Now it is Wednesday and a New unfamiliar number calls me multiple times (Once again, No messages). I didn't answer till after I got off of work. This new person informs me that If I do not get up to the store to fix the error, that "Federal Authorities would be notified" I explained my situation, a bit confused. I had told them I'd take care of it by the weeks end. Now almost in a threatening manner, he informs me that. "If I don't get up there by tomorrow evening at closing time, Federal authorities will be notified, and could "come knocking at my door" I understand federal rules, regulations, and laws but I was completely mistreated and I will never shop here again. I drove straight up to the store, and fixed "my" Error... As a local of Oxford for going about nine years now, I am deeply disappointed with the level of service I received (Or rather the lack thereof). This is not the kind of service I've come to expect in Oxford, and as complacently as I had welcomed Dick's to Oxford, I'd just as well...
Read moreI make extra efforts to support local businesses and businesses where residents of Oxford work. Shopping online is my last option. Shopping retail is not always necessary, however, when you need to know exactly what you're buying 'works', it's best for both parties to go to a store front and walk in to make a purchase.
Piss poor customer service seems to run rampantly in the retail shops in and about Oxford. I don't understand it. Retail business is somewhat dependent on "walk in" sales. It's not always necessary for the customers to walk into much of any local locations anymore with the advent of online sales. This, particularly applies to a town where Ole Miss is in full session, is a haven for out of town visitors looking to spend money. Have we lost touch with the charm of this historic town?
Three things makes a store appealing to me. Customer service, selection and the availability of product, in that order. Greet me, ask if I'm looking for anything in particular and in what size. That's retail clothing sales 101. Merchandise your store. Ailes with clothes not on hangers or in size order is a real turn off and makes a simple purchase that much more difficult. If it's difficult, what's stopping me from going online and making a purchase?
No '0' stars will work on this review but I would say F- on all six experiences I have had in this store. Don't care if it's a corporate matter or a local issue, it's an issue....period. ANY town that hosts a University should have top tier merchandise, selection and most importantly great customer service representatives. You can take that to the bank.

Mind you they weren't trying to help me & didn't ask if I needed any help. I could plainly tell they wanted me to leave.
