Just Cake It! — Restaurant in Oxford

I had contacted just cake it to make an engagement cake for an engagement party. We were having in the Grove with my whole entire family. I had sent pictures from Pinterest showing exactly what I wanted. upon picking up the cake, The writing was in a completely different font than what was showcased on the pictures I had sent. We were charged 15 extra dollars for the ribbon, that did not all match the Picture either. The manager was nice enough to change the font on the top of the cake to what was originally requested when the order was placed. but upon fixing it, the white frosting on the cake was still messed up, even though the writing had been fixed. The bows were fixed and we left with the cake upset that we did not get what we received, but we’re happy that management accommodated to what we had originally requested, the cake looked beautiful and was everything that I wanted. When we get to the next day, my entire family is there celebrating our Engagement. We take our pictures, toast, and go to cut into the cake and it is a completely different flavor than what I had requested. On the original request, I had asked for red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. I was told that cream cheese frosting would not hold up the piping I requested and they recommended switching to buttercream. I think they would know best So the final order was supposed to be red velvet cake with buttercream frosting, vintage piping, Ribbons and cursive writing on top. not only was the flavor of the cake completely wrong, but it had random food coloring in different spots of the cake almost like sprinkles or food dye was accidentally put into the batter in the process of baking the cake. How mortifying is it to cut into your engagement cake, only to find out it is completely different than what you requested but it’s also… Confetti cake. What an absolute nightmare you only get engaged once and this experience is something I will never forget. I was absolutely mortified that I was cutting into confetti cake at my engagement party after telling everyone, it was supposed to be red velvet. How embarrassing from wrong fonts and ribbons to wrong cake flavor I will NEVER order from this place again. The cake was $150 which is already expensive so to mess it up this bad I was furious. My mother called and demanded a full refund on the cake which they were happy to give on top of a $50 gift card. I Don’t even want the $50 gift card because I never will order from this place ever again. Your entire business model is to create custom cakes and desserts for celebrations and special events. I will never have another engagement ever again and will never forget how upset I was. How was I supposed to know the cake was going to be the wrong flavor before cutting into it absolutely ridiculous ever order from this place ever!!!!!!! First had a piece of this cake it was in the cooler sold by the slice. This cake didn’t disappoint!! It was awesome ,and it tasted like how grandma used to make caramel cakes. When I saw the Black Friday deal online ,I decided to make that purchase and it was well worth it. Mrs Crystal stayed in contact with me on the process of making the caramel from scratch and I really appreciated her for doing that!!!!! If you’re ever in the Oxford area, please stop by and check her wonderful business out. When I arrived, I walked into a spotless, beautifully designed shop that instantly gave me a great impression.
