I booked our stay at the Super 8 in August of 2014, because we were on the "wait list" for the Inn at Ole Miss for our daughter's graduation in May 2015 and couldn't get into ANY other hotel in town. It would help if Ole Miss didn't schedule freshman move out on the same weekend as graduation. I specifically asked for 3 rooms together, one for my husband and I, one for my 82 year old mom and one for our daughter and her husband. They don't bother telling you that you can't cancel your stay within 30 days of a "special event", graduation, football games, etc. without losing your entire payment! They told me that the hotel had just under gone a complete renovation the year before so I was hoping that it wasn't going to be the dump that I heard it was. The check in area is deceiving, cause you think, this isn't bad.... But they put us in 3 rooms that were no where near each other. My daughter's husband was unable to come, so they managed to move my daughter to the room next to my mom. All our room were outside around the back of the motel. I can't tell you how creepy it was. First of all, all the construction workers and day laborers bring their hotel furniture outside and gather out there to eat and drink and just hang out for hours and all day on the weekends. But when they eyeballed my daughter like a piece of meat it was both disgusting and very frightening! The rooms were creepy, dingy and dirty, ugh made my skin crawl. It was like something you would see in a movie and worse. We had my daughter stay in the room with my mom and we stayed next door. My husband boobied trapped the door in case one of those animals tried to break in and rape our daughter. We spent the night cause we had no choice, but barely got any sleep cause it was soooo creepy, musty and disgusting. Our daughter graduated Saturday and we were blessed to have been able to get rooms at the Holiday Inn Express - which was practically next door and was BEAUTIFUL compared to the Super 8!!! It cost over $1,500 for 3 nights at that dump!!!! I think we paid $600 for 2 rooms for 2 nights with free breakfast, which was excellent!!!! We didn't check out of the Super 8 cause then they would have been able to book those 3 rooms again!!!! The only way to fix that dump is to knock it down and build it from the ground up. I believe any decent review on this website is probably posted by the owner or management of this dump!! NEVER STAY AT THIS SUPER 8!!!!! Sorry my review is soooo long, but I want to be sure that you will NOT make the mistake...

I should have known it was going to be a bad stay when a working girl (prostitute) comes up to me and ask,
“Are you guys leaving this room?” I replied, “No, why?” She said, “ Cause this room has less roaches than the others.”
The red flags and spidey senses siren but too late. The card had already been charged and we were entering the room when my harlotry friends approached me. We circled the room looking creepy crawlies but didn’t see any. Of course we didn’t. I wasn’t the right time.
After visiting family my wife decided to call it a night. When we got back to the room we could not get in. Our key card would not work and we had to go to the front desk. After changing cards the door finally opened. Once we were settled, I went to hang out with the guys for a while. When I returned the key could not work again. Again, I went to the front desk and again I was given a new card that worked. Their excuse what that I placed the strip too close to another strip. Fine I wont do it again. I opened to door and to a critter party. I managed to kill 2 without waking my wife and son. Yes, I would have changed hotels but there were none.
The next morning we went to breakfast, at another establishment, where I told my wife about the events during the night. When we got back to the room, you will never guess. Yes, the door would not open again. We had to go to the front desk every day of our three-night stay because something was wrong with our door. The maintenance man had to service our door twice because we kept getting locked out. I had to wake up my wife twice because I could not get back into the room. THE TOPPER (NOT EXAGGERATING AT ALL) WAS HAVING TO KILL ROACHES EVERY NIGHT OF OUR STAY.
We contacted Wyndham about the stay and 6 weeks later we contacted them again because we never received a response. Yes Wyndham, if you stay quiet and don’t move we cant see you. After the second attempt Wyndham graciously awarded us 6000 points for our trouble. As if we would ever stay there again. My wife went online and discovered that 6000 points is the equivalent of half a day’s stay. REALLY Wyndham! One half day’s compensation for three days and nights of hell. That not compensation, that’s an insult. Having to contact you a second time after being ignored to 6 weeks was worth more than a half-day compensation.
This is a horrible company and Super 8 in Oxford, MS is the roach party capital of the free world....
Read moreA friend and I reserved a room here on Saturday, June 6, 2020 through Hotels.com. Online they say multiple places that they are pet friendly, but the lady behind the desk explicitly told us "no pets" when we checked in. We were not offered any additional options.
We go to check out the room and to figure out what we're going to do since we have a small dog with us, and there are two older, shirtless gentlemen sitting in chairs right outside of our door, chugging from a bottle of liquor and smoking weed. After going inside, we see a USED Q-tip on the floor between the desk and TV stand.
We decide we are not staying here and go back to the front desk to let the lady know and to get a refund. The girl behind the counter is gets angry at this point, but ultimately tells us we have to contact Hotels.com to get a refund. We call, and the agent says she has to contact the hotel to get the refund.
The agent presumably talks to the same rude woman who tells her she cannot refund the money for our room. At this point, I contact the woman behind the desk and ask why she had us call Hotels.com if all she was going to do was deny our refund. She simply tells me to call back on Monday and talk to the manager.
After a few days of trying to get in touch with him, my friend finally connects with him today. He is rude and unwilling to help us. He tells us that our concerns are not valid and that since we have three different issues that are "all over the place," he is unwilling to give us a refund. Again we're instructed to call Hotels.com to get a refund, and my friend asks if he's simply going to tell them the same exact thing that the previous woman did before. He says, "don't worry about what I'm going to tell them," which we take to mean we aren't getting our money back.
So aside from calling, writing, and tweeting Super 8's corporate office and the Wyndham Hotel Group, we're also leaving this review on every single place we can leave it so that everyone knows the horrible, horrible experience we had. DO NOT stay at this motel. These people do not care about their customers, and when (not if... when) you have issues, they will not help you in the least. The rooms are DISGUSTING. The employees and management are RUDE. And quite honestly, if it came down to staying here again, I'd simply...
