I was so excited to try Pokémoto, especially after the Hawaiian Poké place I used to frequent regularly closed. However, I am severely disappointed, and can't believe how much it cost for a build your own salad and a build your own poké bowl. We ordered larges and neither bowl was full, it was half of the bowl if even. They use pickle tongs to pick up the ingredients, which meant I found maybe two pieces of mango in my poké bowl. They barely put any of the dressing on, and to be honest I didn't even see any of the tempura flakes on my bowl. The salad had barely any dressing as well, and barely any chicken. I'm not exaggerating there was probably a soda bottle lid worth of chicken. The girl who took our order kept saying we wanted three poké bowls, despite stating multiple times we wanted a salad and a poké bowl. The order had to be repeated multiple times before it was understood what we were ordering. The manager even came up, and asked what we were getting, and didn't say a thing about how little food we had or the non existent toppings. By time it was all said and done, it was not worth the hassle of saying anything to them. I really hope that Pokémoto works out their issues, because their food was actually not bad and they have real potential. However, I can go anywhere else in town and get more food for a lot less money. I will say their bubble tea is actually good however, I do think $5 is a little pricy for a small bubble tea. You can get bubble tea at Noodle Bowl for $3.50 and it's really good! I can't remember if it's the same size or larger, but I recommend it.
Unfortunately, my mom was only took a picture of her salad from the side. However, this shows...
Read moreReally miss the old poke shop in Oxford. In comparison, Pokemoto is a lot more expensive and the quality is not nearly as good. I ordered a large bowl and the ratio of rice to toppings was about 80/20. Rice is so cheap, I shouldn’t be paying $15 for a bowl of rice. The milk tea is ok, but not as good as Mi & Tea even Noodle Bowl. I didn’t ask for boba in my tea, but they included it anyway. The pearls are hard and firm and the grainy powder is still there after being mixed. They offer $1 miso soup with your meal, but it’s nothing special. Can’t tell if it’s homemade or from a mix. Paid around $24.98 total my first time here. Very expensive for lunch or Jackson Ave. I wouldn’t say I regret my purchase, but for sure on my next visit I’ll know what not...
Read moreUpdate: Unfortunately, the second visit did not live up to the first. I don't know if there has been a change in employees or if they've lowered quality but my bowl was mostly dry rice and not very good. I sent a message through their customer service email in hopes that they will improve service. It's a shame because I thought this would be my next favorite spot. -----‐-------- We went in for our first visit and were amazed: high quality food, big portions, and delicious combinations. The service was exceptional and our cashier walked us through poke and the choices in front of us. Finally, we came during a sale and happy hour so the food came at a great place. I will be coming here more often and will recommend it to all...
