Recently I Googled Market Outlet to find out what time they opened. Out of curiosity I read the reviews. I was surprised by a couple of negative comments. One was about expired milk. One of the reasons this market has been one of my "go to first" stores for a couple of years now is because of the freshness of their milk and eggs. I have never found milk that didn't have at least four to six weeks on the date, unlike big corp stores that store milk for weeks before it is stocked in their refrigerators, leaving a much shorter shelf life. Add to that fact that large corp stores allow distributors like Pepsi, Lays and General Mills to buy up huge portions of shelf space in order to squeeze out competition from smaller local businesses and importers. I find it refreshing to shop where one can find a wide variety of stock that you would otherwise never see at big corp stores. The very first time I shopped at Grocery Outlet was because of a mailer offering a deal on laundry soap. It was the first day of the ad, but I couldn't find it anywhere in the store. I registered a complaint with the owner. He took my number and called me back the next day to inform me that the soap had arrived and I although I was not able to come in until the sale was over, he put the soap aside and gave it to me at the sale price any way. Since then, a friendly bond has been formed. I have great respect for this hard working hands-on owner who actually cares about his customers and is always available to answer questions and requests which adds a personal touch that I have never experienced in big corp stores. I feels really good! To those naysayers in the reviews I suggest this; Enjoy the wonderful and diverse products Grocery Outlet does have and go elsewhere for the things they don't!
Thank You Mario, you're the best!!!
Incidentally, after writing the review this morning I went to get milk and eggs. The expiration date on the milk was to expire on 6/20/20. Today's date; 4/13/20. ...
Read moreAWFUL MANAGEMENT! I am a local resident that LOVES Grocery Outlet. Apparently, and sadly there are some new owners that should not have a business! I went in on Sunday night to return some items with a receipt, and couldn't because it was purchased from Camarillo. I tied my bags and went on to purchase some necessities since they were in unable to do the transaction. As I walk down the bread isle, turn to the chicken area I was greeted by an employee asking if all is well, I said yes, and thanked him. I walk to the vitamioand he approaches me again . Telling me very embarrassed that it's his job to mention that the manager has told him to watch me, above y shoplifting I got furious and asked him to call the .am who assumed I was stealing. Jeff comes over and tells me there's been shoplifting going on. I told him" THATS NOT MY BUSINESS, ARE YOU ACCUSING ME OF STEALING?" HE SAI" WELL, THERE ARE MORE THINGS IN YOUR BASKET THEN WHEN YOU GOT HERE"! IT WAS HORRIBLE. THE WORST PART IS, I SPEAK TO THE OWNER AND HE TELLSE, " WERE IN A SOCIETY THAT THE WORLD IS BAD, AND THE STORE IS LIKE HIS HOME, HE NEEDS TO PROTECT IT. HE ALSO SAID THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO APPROACH ANYONE IN THEIR STORE AND HIT THEM UP IF THEY ARE STEALING, "there are a lot of people who will get their feelings girl, but we have to guard the store"! That's wrong, I told him if he assumed o was stealing to call the police, and wait for me outside since they were so sure I was stealing. I made my way to the register, and the most borish and uncouth person by the name of Stephanie treatede like a criminal. She tolde ,you should have left your. Asket in the side and shopped. For one, how stupid am mad to leave my items anywhere in the store if they have a shoplifting problem. The manager is unprofessional, the cashier is also. Advice, to the future patrons, go to a different grocery Outlet. This store believes it's ok to hit up cuatyof being thieves inside while shopping? Jorge the owner should maybe work in a...
Read moreLiterally its an outlet, you find great brands for so much less, I don’t even understand how it works, I guess grocery stores need to move inventory so they end up here. You’ll see the expiration dates are closer than the regular stores but who cares, you are going to eat it soon anyway and those dates always have a safe margin of expiration. For instance there is a maple syrup, high quality, that I found recently, you look it online and its 10 bucks, here is 2.99, pure maple syrup, I just had to buy like 5 of them. Its the first place that I go to when I need to do Groceries, if there is something specific that I like and I don’t find it I’ll go somewhere else. Oh, wine selection is fantastic too, great bottles of wine for almost half the price, and ice cream like Ben&Jerry right now they have pints at 1.99! It’s like the feeling when you go to Marshals or Burlington, like the treasure...
