My husband and I joined cricket 2 months ago and we both got the Moto g 5g stylus 2023. A week after we signed up we started having problems with BOTH our phones. They randomly will not receive calls or call out. I have to restart my phone 1-2 times to get it to make calls again. We thought it was just a fluke the first time but then it started happening more frequently. So I took it to my local Cricket store and they showed me how to reset the WiFi settings. Things got better for about 2 weeks and then it started happening again. So I went back to the store where they replaced the SIM cards in both phones hoping that would take care of the problem. 2 days later it happened again⌠So I called the store this time and they sent a complaint up to corporate. A week later after not being contacted I called the store back to follow up and they said that corporate told them that I needed to file a warranty claim. So today I called their customer service to do that. The lady I talked to told me that to exchange the phone I would have to go a week without a phone! I can't do that I'm about to leave town. So I told her I needed to wait and then called the store back and told the guy who has been working with me this whole time what she said. He told me that they should have an advanced option where they charge a $20 holding fee and will refund it when they receive the defective phone. So I went back to the store yet again so he could help me and we were on hold for a long time and spoke to a couple of different people to figure this out. It turns out that bc I didn't have insurance it was actually going to be a $400 dollar holding fee and a $20 shipping & handling fee! Who has that kind of money right now?! They couldn't even charge me right then for it, I would have to wait on yet another person to call me so I could give them my debit info to complete the warranty claim. Needless to say that we will be leaving Cricket within the next month. Making and receiving calls is a basic function of a phone that I should not be having problems with. It's also a major safety concern what if theres an emergency and my phone suddenly decides not to work. It shouldn't have to be this complicated. The guy at the store did try his best to help me but his hands were tied with the big corporate red tape. So don't join Cricket unless you like having simple problems made into...

Here it is: if you purchase a brand new, unlocked cellphone and bring it to cricket, thereâs a decent chance theyâll lock that phone to work exclusively on cricket and deny doing so until the bitter end. The unlock request option online? Wonât work. Contact customer service on the chat? Youâll never see anything come of it. Their top minds are on the case though, just give them an additional 24-72 hours indefinitely. Go into a store? Watch them have a chat with some person on cricketâs employee tech support site or whatever. If you want to spice up the trip, guess how long it will take for the employee to call a more competent coworker while saying âthis will be the last time for real this time but....â Call customer support and speak to a supervisor? They will continue to deny what they have done, say things that donât make any sense (a universal model will never work on cricket? Okay, Brian.), and abruptly hang up on you when you call them out on it.
