The ground floor venue itself is so pretty — an old Ozark building on the square, three doors down from my grandfather’s old grocery store and butcher shop. The floors, ceilings, decor on walls and tables — perfect for my mother’s taste, and what we were looking for: a warm, pretty space to welcome 40 or so friends and family after my father’s graveside service at Ozark Cemetery. The owner, Barbara, was wonderful with my 90-year-old mother and with me: she understood what we wanted to do and executed it beautifully, adding a delicious, fabulous cake on her own and making really yummy finger food for the group.
