I haven’t reviewed this theater and I’ve lived in Palestine for years. That being said, this place still has ways to go before it can reach its full potential.
The seats were updated and now they offer reclining seats. The seats are easy to operate and are extremely comfortable. You are still about to maneuver down the aisle unless your legs are extremely long. This is a nice change of pace since the seats were old and badly needed to be updated.
The theater also now offers online ticket sales. You can go to the website and select your seats. You have the option to choose where you sit and pay for the tickets ahead of the show. This was a good idea until you show up at the theater and have to wait in line to show proof of ticket purchase. The lines are usually long and the staff does a decent job of trying to get customers their concessions. Still the tickets are affordable especially on Tuesday when they have discount Tuesday for $4.50 a ticket after 6 pm.
The only issue that I have with this theater is the seating. Since you are expected to find your correct seats and sit there, I have encountered other customers sitting in our seats. I had to notify management which stops the movie and ensure everybody is in their correct seat. It isn’t difficult to find your seat as the letters and numbers are lit up for your convenience. That’s really the only complaint I have.
The concessions now do not offer free popcorn for large bags nor free refills for a large beverage. They also do not offer buckets for popcorn anymore. If you want butter for your popcorn, then you’ll have to be patient with the butter dispenser as it badly needs to be replaced.
This is a small town theater and I love that about this place. The updates were welcome and I hope they mirror Studio Movie Grill. I recommend this theater and will warn you that someone will probably be sitting in your seat when you arrive if you’re...
Read moreCame to see the new avatar movie. We purchased seats through Fandango because when you click on the time you want to watch the movie 3 different websites links will pop up that allow you to select tickets and pick your seat and I have used fandango before with no issues. There were 2 seats in the back left of the theater showed as available. We selected those seats and paid for them. Fast forward we show our reservations when we arrived and purchased drinks and popcorn and not once were we told that these seats that we purchased “don’t exist”. We go and sit down in what we thought were our seats only to have the joke of a manager come and tell us to get up that people paid for the seats we were in and sarcastically say that we bought fake seats and we couldn’t watch the movie. She offered us a refund for the tickets but we had paid 27$ for two bags of popcorn and two drinks to have while we watched this movie. She was extremely rude and basically implied that we were stupid for not going to the movie theaters exact website when we literally typed in the theater name for Palestine and as previously stated the options prompted to us for picking tickets was Fandango. If these seats don’t “exist” why do they offer this website as a way to get seats and why weren’t we told when they scan the QR code to print our tickets off. I will not be coming back to this joke of a movie theater and I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else. You’re better off just driving to Tyler or the...
Read moreGrowing up going to this movie theater, after visiting recently I think there needs to be work to make the experience better.
I’m not sure how they can sell tickets online and let you pay for them for a showtime when the theater isn’t even open. Had to wait three hours for the next showtime and no explanation was given as to how they were selling tickets for a movie time that didn’t exist. Also, when you purchase tickets online, it doesn’t email you a confirmation, even though it says it will, so you need to be prepared to print it out when you purchase so you can take it with you.
Not sure where calls to the box office go because no one answers the phone. Called multiple times and decided to just drive by to see if they were finally open, which they were. We were the only customers there, so I’m not sure why the staff weren’t answering the phone.
In the theater itself, the floors were so slippery I nearly fell everytime I walked on them. The seats were clean, but the tray tables and arm rests were not. Also, only having one aisle that you can get in and out of is a major fire and safety hazard.
I am not sure if renovations have been happening or not, but you can see hundreds of staples on the wall where fabric is attached, base boards missing throughout the building, etc.
Hate to drive out of town to go see a movie, but if this is the future of the theatre, I am not sure I will be back...
