Saks OFF 5TH — Local services in Palm Desert

Very very disappointed with the customer service in this particular store. We shop here often, and let me tell you. We have never had a pleasant shopping experience. We have spends A LOT of money in this store. Our last visit was the last draw. I had my kids and hubby with me… I get that it’s the holiday season and maybe the staff are extra vigilant as far as shoplifters and stuff. From the moment we walked in, we were followed around the store. I have an infant so, of course had to take a bathroom break, to my luck well we were being followed so getting into the restroom was easy ( they unlock for you ) but as soon as we left the restroom, again kept being asked if everything was ok, me politely, yes, thank you! Didn’t think anything of it. But this staff member kept following me around the store, I did grab a sweater, I walked over to the wallets, that are right by the entrance, because that’s where they are. Same staff member, still behind me. At this point I’m already annoyed, my hubby is aware, my 11 year old daughter is also questioning why he keeps asking if we need help. I get really annoyed… as I’m looking at the wallets, he asks, do you need help, I say no thank you, I do not need help, he then asks, do you need a bag? NO, I do not need a bag, Would you like a CART? NO I WOULD NOT LIKE A CART… I look him dead in the eyes and tell him “ let me go pay for this, because you obviously think that I’m trying to steal it” he just smirks and goes to stand next to the register and is just looking at me. To his surprise, not only do we have an account there, we also have lots of rewards available because, yeah, we do shop here often. But he continued on to walk us out of the store. This is not the first time this happens here. It’s very very disappointing that we are in 2022 and people still have not learned to humble themselves down. Will never be going to that...

Horrible. Stay away. Their sale signs are extremely misleading and illusory as nothing is on sale despite their signs that say otherwise. They surprise you at the cash register. All over their shoe racks they have signs for 40 % off. Yet at the register they claim the 40 off is only if the shoe has a yellow sticker. When i went back to look, not one pair of shoes on all their racks had any yellow sticker. To make matters worse the fitting room attendant who said she had to hold onto my shoes while i tried on the clothes disappeared, was nowhere to be found and after much time looking for where she might have hid my shoes, i finally found them only to be told that they were not 40 off as per their signs all over the place. That'll be the last time they will ever see me there. If you dont want to get aggravated stay away...

It had been many years since I had been in a Saks Off 5th and I accidentally found this one when I was parking to go to my jewelry store. So I popped in to see what I might find inside. I was kind of surprised about how stripped down it looked; basic polished cement flooring gave it a grungy look. But they had some good items at discount prices. They had a lot of Karl Lagerfeld (which I love) which I pawed through but the dresses and shirts I liked were not in my size. I then made it to the handbags and they had a delicious display of Lagerfeld bags, with the one at the top bearing his likeness. I picked it up and ogled it, debated getting it, then put it down thinking I'll come back to it. Ten seconds later a shopper came over and swooped it up and put it in her cart. Dangit!
