05/12/23 7:00 p.m. REVIEW: We haven't been to Fresh Agave in several years. Food had gone downhill, COVID hit and the interior was so loud and claustrophobic we never went back. Our guests this evening wanted to give Fresh Agave another try. But this time, there was a patio behind the restaurant. Decorated very cutely, with misters, and a nice Mexican singer with a guitar. So we sat back there. The only problem is that the "room" was shifted at an angle, which sent all our silverware, napkins, etc..running off the end of the table. Also, my husband, while looking around, noticed that the structure is improperly built, and unsafe. He gave me instructions of where to run in case of an earthquake, LOL š . On to the food, I got a Mango mocktail which was very "mangoey" but also a little too sweet for me (See photo of drinks menu), another guest got a Stawberry Daquiri (excellent!). Another guest got some Pinot Grigio, which they liked very much. Everyone else was drinking sodas. We were served tortilla chips and salsa. The chips were excellent but needed more salt, and the salsa was for the brave-- spicy! We ordered a bowl of guacamole which was overpriced at about $17, and was tasty but also needed less lime and more salt. For an appetizer, we ordered shredded beef taquitos, which were excellent. For entrees, I ordered 2 Chile Relleno a la carte, but I could only finish one. The chile was fresh, quite spicy, and nice and cheesy. The egg was nice and fluffy too. Another guest ordered the combination plate with a shredded beef enchilada, which he liked very much. Another guest ordered a Chile Relleno Combination Plate and a Shredded Beef Taco a la carte. She liked everything she ordered. The other guests both ordered combination plates which the said they both enjoyed. No desserts, just the bill. Prices definitely went up quite a bit. You can see the prices on the menu photos. Although the patio was quite loud as it filled up, when we made our way back through the restaurant it was so loud and claustrophobic, I could never eat in there again. Overall, it was a refreshing visit to an old haunt. Definitely would visit again if it was cool outside on the back patio. One last note, the servers and busboys were so nice, efficient and made that room move without...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIn November 3 of us went for dinner and we all agreed it was a good experience, not great but not bad 4 stars since service was outstanding. Now to the present šµāš« 2 weeks ago my sister and i decided to have some drinks and appetizers! So this is what happened As we got there we asked if we can sit outside since I had my puppy with me Answer from the server was you can sit on a table for 2 only We asked for menus after a few minutes since server didnāt bring any Server was a tad curt when we said we were only there for drinks and appetizers My sister order a draft micro beer and I just order a margarita ( no salt) we also ordered the ceviche to start Server brought the drinks and I asked if I could have some limes since Margarita was so clear it was not what I expected for a Margarita and it arrived with salt
Server dropped limes and didnāt say a word
6 on the positive side, ceviche was good, portion was good , taste etc we just asked for hot sauce
7 so while we were getting ignored service kept making small talk to the adjacent table for 4 with only a couple, which we thought it was weird ( but maybe since we are Hispanic decent we were cheap) we couldnāt figure out what the dis
8 I couldnāt drink the margarita and just asked for the bill, server just dropped it off and that was our only interaction with server
I did ask the busser which was the only person that really attended us to get me change and I gave him a tip which I should have him him the server tip too
So never again will we visit this place when they have servers that make you feel that being of Hispanic decent you donāt deserve service. Itās so unbelievable since I had been a general manager for 40 years now retired For an American sports...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAtmosphere when walking in was great; service at the bar was the only open space when we arrived. Truly idk if reservations are available but I was excited as it was my first time being there. My wifes second time and I kind of followed her lead and since we just got out of the theater we where in mood for drinks and a light meal.
We both ordered a Tamarindo margarita w Mezcal (2 each) wow... deelish and well served big shout out to Bryan twins Jesus and Efren. I must say if it weren't for them my visit to Fresh Agave would have been an unplesent one.
We ordered 3 things from the menue while drinking our drinks and sittingat at the bar watchingthe Mexico (soccer)INT team play, chiles agave, chicken salad and calamari fried. We got the chiles agave with in minutes of ordering and I was impressed and I must say they where very tasty. Here is where this place left a bad impression on me as the second half of our meal never got to us. Tables and ppl at bar that had ordered after us where getting their meals; I'm talking about 3 to 5 ppl to a table. We finished our first drink and still no food, ordered the second drink and we patiently waited. Truthfully, in my opinion there was a moment where I felt uncomfortable as we were the only Mexicans here, aside from the staff that works at this place; it was more of a Caucasian place. I hate to feeling this way but it's what I saw. Again thanks to the three guys that got me out of this stinky thinking and where able to locate our food, my wife loved it but if we got treated like this, its a place I would not go to...
