I had an incredibly disappointing experience at the uBreakiFix location in Palm Harbor. I filed a claim to get both the front and rear screens of my phone replaced and chose this location because they offered same-day repairs. On Sunday, I drove from Tampa, arriving 5 minutes before they opened, to ensure I was first in line.
From the moment I was helped by Christina, the service was subpar. She initially couldn't find my claim, and within five minutes, she mentioned that if she couldn't get her system to work, I'd have to come back another time. After another ten minutes of fumbling with the computer, she finally found my claim.
Christina confirmed that they had the parts in store but then told me the repair would take four hours, and I would need to leave my phone overnight. I explained that my reason for coming was to get the repair done the same day, which was why I drove out there. She then told me that because only she and one other employee were working, she couldn't guarantee the repair would be completed if other customers came in, especially since both screens needed to be replaced.
I offered to only repair the front screen and come back for the rear later, or even skip the rear altogether, but she said she had to complete the claim as is. I reluctantly agreed to leave my phone, hoping it might be done by closing time at 5:00 PM. She warned me that it was "my risk." To make matters worse, Christina then claimed my charging port was defective and that I would need a new phone, which would "only" cost around $100. This didn't sit right with me, so I tested the charging port in my car and, unsurprisingly, it worked perfectly.
Frustrated, I called the insurance company, which took another 45 minutes of my time because Christina had already closed the claim and added notes about needing a new phone, which had to be reversed.
When I asked for Christina's name, she inquired if there were any issues. I explained that it felt like she just didn't want to do the repair on a Sunday and mentioned my charging port worked fine. She then tried to explain that the issue was likely with the data port, not the charging port, but my truck had no issues accessing my phone's data.
The final straw? I ended up waiting until Wednesday for a mobile service technician to come to me and fix the phone. They arrived at 3:00 PM and had everything 100% repaired by 3:25 PM, with my phone now working perfectly.
In summary, my experience at uBreakiFix in Palm Harbor was frustrating and time-consuming, with poor service and unhelpful staff. I would not recommend this location to anyone looking for reliable and efficient...
Read moreThis is a 5 star business deserving of the time to write a review. My iPhone suddenly stopped charging and was giving me an alert of possible water damage in the charging port. I waited a day hoping it would dry out, but still wasn't charging and I had about 10% left so needed to figure out a solution. I didn't know where to go.... my carrier, T-Mobile? In the past for smaller issues, they usually just try to upsell a new phone or insurance which is not helpful in the moment. Drive to Tampa and wait in the jam-packed Apple store? That's what my nightmares are made of. Then, I remembered a friend sharing about uBreakiFix and decided to give it a try. While I hope not to need to use them often, I will be a customer for life. Rob didn't have the part I needed in store, but he ordered it right away, set up an appointment to have the work done and the cost was only a tiny fraction of having to get a new phone. In the meantime, he suggested a wireless charging pad. I didn't even know such a thing existed, but $30 something dollars later, I walked out of the store with one & was able to charge my phone until the service date a few days away. Within the next few days, I decided to try out my phone on the charger and lo and behold, it was working again so I called the store to let them know I wouldn't be needing the service appointment so they could open it up to someone else. Being an empath, I was apologetic about not needing the service, to which he responded that he was happy my phone was working again and that he'll have the part on hand if I or anyone else needs it down the road.
Also, I noticed how much undivided attention he gives to each customer. An older gentlemen was ahead of me in line and had questions that may seem simple to a younger person, however, he took the time to show him on his iPhone about voice texts, lock screens, etc. That warmed my heart.
I meant to leave a review that day but totally forgot so I'm glad this email prompted me to ask about my experience. 10/10, I highly recommend this place so long as it is run by the same kind,...
Read moreThis place is extremely dishonest!! I called 2 places for quotes to fix my phone screen. Over the phone, a lady here quoted me $200, which was the cheaper of the 2 so this is where I chose. When I dropped off my phone, the cashier (a guy) said "it will be $217 after taxes, sign here" which I didn't bother reading because he verbally said $217 so I just signed. Went back later to pick my phone up and a 3rd employee who was ringing me up said "ok it'll be $253" . What? I told him it's supposed to be $217. He said no its $239 before taxes, after taxes $253. The lady who quoted me $200 over the phone then came out and told me, "it's not even that much more, it's just $239" and I told her, if it's not that much, then you pay it. We argued quite a bit because I felt that was their mistake so they should eat the difference. The only reason I chose this place was because it was cheaper. The 3rd cashier told me if I don't want to pay it, they will just put my broken screen back on. I ended up going to the bank to get more money because I obvious need my phone and when I got back the 3rd cashier told me he "did me a favor" and made some calls and they were willing to "honor the cheaper price". Sorry but that's not a favor, that's called doing what's right and what should have been done in the first place. He rang me up and the total still came to $234, not the $217 after taxes they verbally quoted me. He then pulls out the reciept cashier #2 had me sign and what do you know? It's says $234! Lol. So cashier #2 verbally said itll be $217 when I pick it up, knowing the reciept says $234. That was my fault for not reading what I signed but I know this was done on purpose. They lured me in with a cheap price then once the service is done, hit me with a more expensive price. I wonder how many people they do this to daily,...
